Approval, Audit and Continued Oversight


  • Assess and recommend/approve applications for Unmanned Aircraft Organizations & Training Organization.
  • Ensure all relevant certificates/approvals and/or recommend/oversee for certification/approval of Unmanned Aircraft Organizations & Unmanned Aircraft Training Organization, are issued in accordance with established procedures and as per the Technical Authority Manual to maintain high standard.
  • Develop and conduct the annual oversight (surveillance) programme to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
  • Ensure that investigations are carried out to determine the cause of incidents and prevent future occurrences and direct coordination with other disciplines (if necessary).
  • Monitor Technical Functions in implementation of their duties and functions to ensure continued compliance with standards.

Internal Surveillance Program & External Audits


  • Assist in the development of the annual internal oversight (surveillance) program to ensure compliance with standards, and to assess performance of the safety oversight.
  • Participate in the implementation of internal surveillance program to ascertain compliance with standards.
  • Administer and enhance Q-Pulse and any other tools available  and make optimum utilization of them.
  • Ensure the implementation of any corrective action to ascertain alignment of Safety Affairs standards with international standards and to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Support the administration of all auditing activities by external entities against Safety Affairs including ICAO, and IMS to ensure smooth and productive audit.
  • Identify and target areas of safety concern based on audit reports analysis and other feedback to continually contribute to the improvement of safety.

Standardisation  


  • Assist in defining, developing and monitoring of internal standards to facilitate adherence to national and international standards.
  • Identify deficiencies within internal standards and recommend the implementation of any improvement to ascertain compliance of Safety Affairs with international standards.
  • Ensure on-going contacts with relevant staff within the Sector to respond to queries, provide information, and report difficulties and resolve related administrative issues.
  • Deliver any type of training to ensure Sector’s staff are up to date with standards.

Safety Policy / Safety Promotion and Culture


  • Assist in the implementation of safety promotion activities to nurture a safety awareness culture within the UAE civil aviation industry and to keep stakeholders abreast of changes to relevant safety standards.
  • Provide advice and guidance to the Sector, sharing best practice, trends and the findings of reviews, studies and investigations to prevent future occurrences/incidents/accidents.

Policies, Systems, Processes and Procedures


  • Advise the management by maintaining an on-going update on new standards and best practices to foster the safe and orderly growth of UAE civil aviation.
  • Improve and implement Safety Affairs policies, systems, processes, and procedures so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering high quality safety services to the UAE civil aviation industry in accordance with customer service standards.
  • Ensure the continuous improvement of the e-services or other applications designed to make all processes within SAFS more efficient and effective.
  • Respond to customer queries to maintain high satisfaction levels.

Reporting


  • Ensure that all functional reports are prepared timely and accurately and meet GCAA requirements and quality standards.

Health, Safety and Environment within GCAA 


  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, quality and environmental management procedures and controls to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/services and a responsible environmental attitude as per IMS available standards

Other Tasks/ Accountability 


  • Perform additional tasks relevant to the role / area of expertise as requested by the management to be able to achieve the objectives/commitments.
