At GEMS School of Research and Innovation (SRI), we are redefining student development through a world-class sporting ecosystem that goes beyond the traditional PE curriculum. We are now seeking Specialist Coach for Basketball to join our dynamic Performance & Coaching team.
Working alongside the Director of Performance, Partnerships and Coaching, as well as our network of Ambassadors and Patrons of Sport, the Specialist Coach will deliver structured training programmes before and after school that promote excellence, personal development, and competitive performance.
Candidates with additional specialist expertise in other areas are encouraged to highlight their strengths. The Coach will also support inter-school competitions and extracurricular athletic programs while integrating modern training techniques to enhance student performance and engagement.
Skills
Person specifications:
Certified coaching qualification (minimum Level 2 or equivalent) in Basketball. Additional certifications in other specialist disciplines are advantageous. Proven coaching experience within clubs, academies, or schools. Strong communication skills and a genuine passion for youth development. A commitment to safety, safeguarding, and ethical coaching standards. Have a willingness to collaborate and share their outstanding practice Have a growth mindset, whereby they are reflective and solution focussed Be creative and enthusiastic in their approach to teaching Possess excellent interpersonal skills to work closely with colleagues, students and parents Have a proven track record of providing outstanding learning & teaching Have aspiration to work in a world-class school with real prospects for enhancing their career Be willing to make a positive contribution to our school community and culture through active engagement in our extra-curricular programme and community-based events
