Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
Professional qualifications in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration will be preferred.
Strong understanding of CAPEX projects, drydocking requirements, and maritime operations.
Proven experience in managing high-value contracts and complex supplier negotiations.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in maintenance management software, Microsoft Office Suite and possibly specialised marine software.
Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems.
Minimum 7–9 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, and contract management within the marine, oil & gas or shipbuilding industry.

GAC Marine operates from our fully-equipped marine base in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Our comprehensive offshore marine support includes anchor handling, project cargo transportation, platform supply, crew changes and supplies, as well as rig moves and tug & barge operations. GAC Marine is looking for the right person to join our team as a Sourcing Lead to be based at our Abu Dhabi marine base. The successful candiate will play a strategic role in managing the procurement and sourcing activities of the fleet owner operating in the Middle East region. The role involves leading the end-to-end sourcing lifecycle for CAPEX projects, drydocking, and strategic procurement initiatives. The candidate will ensure effective contract management, compliance, and supplier relationship management, contributing to cost efficiency, operational excellence and project delivery success.
Job Description
Supplier Management - Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders. Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, delivery, cost, and reliability metrics. Drive supplier development initiatives to improve efficiency and innovation.
Contract Management - Negotiate and finalize contracts, ensuring favorable terms and conditions for the organisation. Monitor contract compliance and manage performance reviews with key suppliers. Address and resolve contractual disputes, ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory standards.
Strategic Sourcing - Develop and implement sourcing strategies aligned with organizational objectives and market trends. Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive strategic initiatives to optimise procurement spend. Analyse market conditions and supplier landscapes to identify reliable and competitive vendors.
Procurement Management - Manage procurement activities for CAPEX projects, including vessel upgrades, new builds, and refurbishments. Oversee procurement for drydocking and maintenance projects, ensuring adherence to budgets and timelines. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define specifications, requirements and procurement priorities.
Project Procurement Lead - procurement planning and execution for vessel-specific and company-wide projects. Ensure the timely availability of critical equipment, spare parts and services to meet operational demands. Develop procurement frameworks for large-scale projects and support cross-functional teams.
Reporting & Analytics - Monitor and report on sourcing and procurement performance metrics. Provide insights and recommendations to senior management on sourcing strategies and opportunities. Use data-driven approaches to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Risk & Compliance - Identify and mitigate risks associated with procurement and supply chain operations. Ensure compliance with international maritime regulations and company policies. Develop contingency plans for critical supply chain disruptions.
