Job Summary: A shoe and bag restoration technician is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the appearance of shoes, ensuring they look their best and are in excellent condition.
Key Responsibilities:
Shoe Cleaning: Clean and remove dirt, dust, scuff marks, stains, and other imperfections from various types of shoes, including leather, suede, canvas, and fabric.
Shoe Polishing: Polish leather and other materials to restore shine and luster. Apply appropriate polishes, creams, and waxes.
Material Expertise: Understand the different types of shoe materials and their specific cleaning and care requirements. Use suitable cleaning products and techniques for each material.
Repair Services: Provide basic shoe repair services, such as re-gluing soles, fixing loose stitching, or replacing laces.
Stain Removal: Identify and address various stains and blemishes on shoes, utilizing the appropriate stain removal techniques and products.
Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and clean all equipment, including shoe brushes, polishers, and any other tools used in the cleaning process.
Organization: Keep the work area clean and organized, ensuring that shoes are correctly labeled and stored.
Record-keeping: Maintain records of the services provided to customers, such as the type of shoes cleaned, repair work done, and any special customer requests.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of various shoe and bag materials and their care requirements.
Minimum 1 year Experience in shoe cleaning, polishing, and basic repair techniques.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
Physical stamina, as the job may involve long periods of standing and physical labor.
Ability to use and maintain shoe cleaning equipment.
