Senior Technician - CAD

About the Job:

Mott MacDonald are looking for a Senior Technician – CAD to support the Infrastructure Utilities team on the delivery of ongoing projects across the Unit.

Key responsibilities and duties are listed, but not limited to, the below:

• Drafting/modelling of Pressure Networks, Gravity Networks or Electrical/Dry Networks using Autodesk Civil3d.
• Creating surfaces, alignments, longitudinal sections using Autodesk Civil3d.
• Manage and maintain the BIM models and data, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and integrity throughout the project lifecycle.
• Conduct clash detection, model coordination, and issue resolution using using Autodesk NavisWorks.
• Collaboration and coordination with other disciplines on design changes and model challenges.
• Working in a common data environment platform and managing BIM data throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure the quality for all BIM package submissions in accordance with Project standards, requirements and with the BIM execution plan.
• Supervise the BIM modelers, collaborate and coordinate with the Design Engineers, Design Managers throughout the Project Life cycle.
• Develop and automate routines in BIM to support standards, quality, and productivity.
• Implement were needed BIM applications including but not limited to Dynamo.
• Assisting in creating content to enhance our digital libraries.
• Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in BIM technology.
• Demonstrate a deep interest in learning new skills and knowledge.

Candidate Specification: 

• Degree or Diploma in any engineering discipline.
• Must have experience in infrastructure drafting and modeling for utilities, with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Familiarity with UAE authority standards and submission requirements for drawings and documents.
• Understanding of key principles of information management as set out in ISO 19650.
• Ability to quickly become conversant with Mott MacDonald's and our clients' drawing standards and procedures.
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English.Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Proven organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently with low to medium supervision.
• Knowledge of Civil3d Part builder would be preferable.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing project requirements.
• Experience in a consultancy environment, particularly in the civil engineering industry, is preferred.
