SENIOR SAFTEY ENGINEER (OFFSHORE)

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

We are seeking a dedicated Safety Engineer to join our team, specializing in Offshore Projects within the Oil & Gas industry. The Safety Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with safety regulations, implementing safety protocols, and promoting a culture of safety across offshore facilities.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs, policies, procedures, and guidelines for offshore projects.
• Conduct risk assessments, hazard identification, and safety audits to mitigate potential hazards and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs and recommend improvements as necessary.
• Provide technical guidance on safety-related matters to project teams, including engineers, contractors, and subcontractors.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and prepare detailed reports with recommendations for preventive measures.
• Participate in project planning and design reviews to ensure safety considerations are integrated into project execution.
• Conduct safety training sessions and workshops for personnel involved in offshore operations.
• Review and approve contractor safety plans and ensure adherence to safety standards during construction, commissioning, and operation phases.
• Collaborate with regulatory agencies and participate in audits and inspections to demonstrate compliance with safety regulations.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelors degree in Safety Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety engineering, preferably in Offshore Oil & Gas projects.
• Knowledge of relevant safety standards and regulations (e.g., OSHA, API RP 14C, ISO 45001).
• Experience in conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety audits.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate across disciplines.
• Professional certifications in safety management (e.g., CSP, CMIOSH) preferred but not required.
