Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer with a strong background in marine construction. The ideal candidate excels in managing complex projects, coordinating teams and subcontractors, and maintaining high standards for Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE). Strong skills in technical and project documentation, and effective communication with clients and stakeholders are essential.
The Senior Project Engineer will be responsible for managing and coordinating a complex marine construction project, ensuring compliance with timelines, budgets, and QHSE standards. They will prepare and manage project documentation. Additionally, the role requires effective communication with clients, subcontractors, and project teams to resolve challenges and facilitate project progress efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Performance Monitoring & Coordination
- Monitor site progress and ensure efficient resource utilization.
- Coordinate site activities to optimize team productivity.
- Engage actively with site personnel to drive progress and document outcomes.
- Recognize and proactively manage onsite issues by implementing effective solutions to keep projects on track.
- Escalate significant problems to relevant stakeholders, accompanied by recommended actions.
- Maintain a detailed log of identified issues and resolutions to support continuous improvement of project processes.
Daily Resource Allocation
- Allocate manpower, materials, and equipment efficiently to maximize productivity.
- Monitor resource usage to prevent wastage and ensure alignment with project plans.
- Adjust resource distribution based on daily project needs and unexpected challenges.
Documentation
- Interpret and apply foundational contractual terms during daily project activities to ensure full compliance.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and records, including daily logs, progress reports, and site instructions.
- Ensure that all project documentation meets compliance standards and is readily accessible for audits.
- Collaborate with the administrative team to streamline documentation processes.
Budget:
- Assist in monitoring project budgets and expenditures, identifying potential cost-saving opportunities.
- Provide input on budget adjustments based on site progress and project requirements.
- Prepare and submit financial reports related to onsite activities.
Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE):
- Enforce QHSE policies and procedures to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Collaborate with QHSE officers to implement corrective actions when necessary.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Strong technical knowledge and expertise.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills applicable to varied environments.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in computer skills, including MS Office applications.
- Skilled in AutoCAD with knowledge of local and international codes and design practices.
- Detail-oriented with strong team collaboration skills.
- Experience with installation of Coastal Protection Containers would be an advantage
