SENIOR PLANNING ENGINEER

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of working on large-scale mega projects in the Middle East and be immediately available to start. This role is based in Dubai and will involve leading the planning and scheduling efforts for complex projects, ensuring successful project delivery within the set timeframes and budgets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead the development and management of comprehensive project schedules using Primavera P6 or similar software.
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to establish key project milestones and deliverables.
• Regularly review project progress and adjust schedules as necessary to address any issues or delays.
• Provide leadership and direction to junior planning engineers and support staff.
• Facilitate coordination meetings with project teams and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective communication.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for all planning and scheduling-related matters on assigned projects.
• Identify potential risks and develop robust mitigation strategies.
• Oversee project cost management, ensuring that budgets are adhered to and financial targets are met.
• Prepare detailed progress and cost reports for senior management and clients.
• Ensure efficient allocation and utilization of resources, including manpower, equipment, and materials.
• Monitor and forecast resource requirements, making adjustments as needed to meet project demands.
• Ensure that all planning activities are in compliance with local regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
• Maintain comprehensive and accurate project documentation, including schedules, progress reports, change orders, and risk registers.
• Drive continuous improvement in planning processes and tools, identifying opportunities for increased efficiency and effectiveness.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in project planning and management.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. A Masters degree is preferred.
• Minimum of 12 years of experience in planning and scheduling, with at least 5 years in a senior role managing mega projects in the Middle East.
• Advanced knowledge of Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and other relevant project management tools.
• PMP, PSP, or other relevant certifications are highly desirable.
• Currently based in Dubai, UAE, and available to start IMMEDIATELY.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
• Fluent in English; proficiency in Arabic is an advantage.
