Our client, a leading semi-govt manufacturing company is hiring a General Counsel / Senior Legal Counsel - (Emiratisation Initiative seeking Emirati talent in the UAE) - Abu Dhabi
Job Description:
• Legal Leadership and Strategy:
• Develop and execute the company's legal strategy to align with business objectives.
• Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the legal department, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
• Regulatory Compliance:
• Stay current with laws and regulations affecting the company's operations.
• Ensure that the organization complies with all relevant legal requirements.
• Contract Management:
• Oversee the negotiation, drafting, and review of contracts, agreements, and legal documents.
• Advise on contractual matters, risks, and terms.
• Litigation and Dispute Resolution:
• Manage all legal disputes, including litigation, arbitration, and settlement negotiations.
• Collaborate with external legal counsel when necessary.
• Corporate Governance:
• Ensure compliance with corporate governance requirements.
• Manage board meetings, corporate records, and filings.
• Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A):
• Provide legal expertise and due diligence support for M&A activities.
• Draft and negotiate M&A agreements.
• Risk Management:
• Identify and assess legal risks and develop strategies for risk mitigation.
• Establish and implement risk management policies and procedures.
• Ethics and Compliance Programs:
• Develop and oversee ethics and compliance programs.
• Promote a culture of ethics and integrity throughout the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum of 10+ years of legal experience, with significant experience in a leadership or executive role.
• Strong knowledge of [industry-specific regulations].
• Proven track record of providing strategic legal counsel and successfully managing legal departments.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
