The Design Manager (Infrastructure) will provide advice and assurance to the end user throughput the entire Design process, they will also challenge Vendors to meet objectives around budget, quality and construction timelines.
The Design Manager is accountable in ensuring the concept and detailed designs are captured as per the end user’s requirements.
The Design Manager will support the preparation of reports, drawings, specifications and review of tender documents. He or she will report to the Head of Department.

Role:



In this role, you are required to provide the interface between project ownership and delivery.
You are required to act as the single focal point of contact between the end user, consultants and the Construction Contractor(s), about design, ensuring the desired project objectives are delivered.
You must have adequate knowledge and information about the business and the project to make informed value-add decisions for both the Client and the end user.

Responsibilities:



You will be responsible for at least the following areas and duties in your role. Providing the report with recommended list of Design Consultants to the Customer. Reviewing Design Consultant’s Contract. Conducting QA review of both concept and detailed Design and ensuring Design meets budget requirements. Ensuring the Design process recognizes current legislation, standards and codes of practice, where appropriate. Striving to eliminate health and safety risks in the Design and financial risks during construction. Supporting, understanding and advising the Customer as to the requirements and his/her obligations in the development of a building Design. Ability to manage workload and time efficiently.

Experience & Requirements:



Degree qualified (Civil Engineering/Architecture). A minimum of 15 years solid design experience with Infrastructure Projects in GCC and has delivered some on site, ideally with a large developer/PMC. Knows local code and authorities Design and Construction Provision NOC processes. Possesses in-depth knowledge of all aspects of residential construction Projects in UAE/KSA including local Design guidelines, industry practices and authority regulations. Arabic speaking professionals preferred.
