Participates in the development and verifies the implementation of the Corporate HSE Management System & associated procedures pertaining to Industrial Hygiene and provides professional advice on ‘Industrial Hygiene Technical’ issues through Environment and Occupational Health Department Manager.
Job Specific Accountabilities
Technical Input & Support:
Provides support for developing, tracking and ensuring proper implementation of Adnoc Distribution HSEMS Strategic Objectives in the field of Industrial Hygiene Management.
Provides technical input in the area of ‘Industrial Hygiene Prevention, ‘Technical problem solving’, ‘Risk Management’, and supports supervisor in the area of HSE compliance.
Identifies risks in the workplace and advises on how to avoid and control them. Works in a variety of ADNOC DISTRIBUTION facilities, including building sites, offices and refineries.
Planning of Activities:
Actively participates in planning of activities involving improvement of Industrial Hygiene Function in ADNOC DISTRIBUTION facilities.
Participates in all Industrial Hygiene Assessment studies for ADNOC DISTRIBUTION facilities. Conducts industrial Hygiene Risk Management assessment when required.
Extends support to all Facilities for the development and implementation of the site / facility specific Industrial Hygiene prevention / protection measures, Risk Management & ensures HSE Control Measures are implemented.
Reviews documents and procedures received from the Operating Plants and major projects
Performs industrial hygiene surveys in the workplace, Heat Stress monitoring, Noise Surveys, Chemical exposure monitoring, Lighting surveys, Radiation surveys and Ergonomic studies
Physical Effort Minimal Physical effort except when on inspection or tours of the field. Setting on the desk, walking and and using of PC.
Work Environment Uses computer most part of the work time. Duties are mostly performed in air conditioned office environment
B.Sc. degree in Engineering, Chemical, Biomedical, Medical or equivalent.
Member of AIHA, BOHS, AIOH or equivalent
ISO Standard Certifications
Diploma of Professional Competence in Industrial/Occupational Hygiene
Minimum Education Level Required: University Graduate on related Technical Major
Minimum Working Experience: More than 5 years in similar position or similar field
Minimum Experience & Knowledge:
10 years’ experience in Industrial Hygiene within the oil & gas industry of which 4-5 years in a senior position.
Strong evidence on capability of performing industrial hygiene measurement and evaluation e.g. area and personal noise monitoring, BTEX, heat stress, mercury vapor, welding fume and indoor air quality;
Experience in implementing several core industrial hygiene programs such as Hearing Conservation Program (HCP), Respiratory Protection Program (fit testing), Hazardous Substance Management
Program, Personal Protective Equipment management program, and Food Safety Program;
Experience in delivering industrial hygiene training e.g. manual handling, chemical handling, PPE and hearing conservation program;
Strong in communication skill and interpersonal skill;
Administration experience, familiar with MS Office;
Capable to communicate in English for both written and oral.
Certification
Obtain professional certification in industrial hygiene (i.e. BOSH. AIOH, AIHA, AIOH)
