About the role The role is part of Taste Creation and Innovation, supporting business functions such as sales, applications, production, sensory and flavour library by working efficiently to support customer briefs while maintaining a vision of what will work best for customers. Extend capabilities by collaborating with other flavourists, research scientists and technology experts across the organization to support initiatives and projects. Interact with customers and suppliers to ensure that goals are met and that briefs are completed in a timely manner. Have significant experience in the area of expertise and continue to share knowledge in taste development.
Key responsibilities
- Create new and innovative flavour profiles.
- Work together with the end use applications teams to develop integrated flavour solutions.
- Learn and understand Kerry technologies to create differentiating taste solutions.
- Support taste innovation programs through acquired knowledge and technologies available at Kerry.
- Ability to formulate flavours that meet all regulatory guidelines and restrictions. Formulation of spray dried flavours, flavoured emulsions, top notes, extracts, and reaction flavours.
- Work closely with the flavour analytical group and have an adequate understanding of relevant analytical methods such as GC-MSO, HPLC, FID, SPME and other separation and identification techniques for flavour development.
- Be a team player, able to work individually, also as part of the wider team.
- Acquire a good understanding of the markets in which we operate and interact at an elevated level of professionalism with customers, including making customer presentations.
- Play an active role in professional bodies regionally and globally.
- Be a good communicator across all functions of the business.
- Support the development of Flavourist Trainees where required.
Qualifications and skills
- Bachelors or Masters in Food Science/Chemistry
- Minimum of 8 yrs experience in sweet Flavor Creation
- Superior creative abilities.
- Above average customer focus.
- Ability to build effective teams.
