Job Purpose

Develop and monitor implementation of the ADNOC environmental policies, procedures targets and objectives and review/evaluate all environmental aspects associated with ADNOC activities to minimize Environment Impact to ALARP level. Assist in developing environmental HSE Codes of Practice and Operating Guidelines and monitors the implementation of environmental policies, programs, guidelines and Codes-of-Practice across ADNOC and Group of Companies’ operations. Analyse and support ADNOC Group Companies strategies including development and implementation of sustainability related policies and activities.




Job Specific Accountabilities (Part 1)

•    Develop, review and update environmental procedures and guidelines /functions, and monitor implementation of applicable emerging environmental initiatives in ADNOC and Group of Companies to minimize Environment Impact to ALARP level.
•    Review environmental information (KPIs) for reporting venues, lead the review and update of relevant assets, environmental aspects and impact registers.
•    Advice and support ADNOC & Group companies’ assets on the implementation of control measures to minimize Environment Impact to ALARP level.
•    Initiate Environmental Programs to support ADNOC Group Companies to comply with Governmental & ADNOC, obligatory requirements (Procedures, Codes of Practice etc.) to prevent/minimize Environmental impacts. 
•    Establish Environmental Monitoring Programs to assess & monitor ADNOC Group Compliance to HSE policies and legal and statutory regulations in relation to environment protection.
•    Contribute to developing and updating HSE Guidelines on environmental issues pertaining to ADNOC, the Group of Companies and Affiliates. Ensure that ADNOC’s policy, the legal requirements and international standards are addressed properly in the Guidelines and Procedures developed by the Group of Companies and Affiliates in coordination with the concerned department. 
•    Develop greenhouse gases (GHGs) / carbon emissions and criteria air pollutants inventories including data analysis, emission factor development, document calculation methodology and web-system deployment.
•    Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis of empirical data with particular focus on environmental data such as carbon, water and waste including life–cycle analysis (LCA) to provide analytical reports on the impact on the various environmental factors.
•    Perform air dispersion modelling, develop and document air quality index, broadcast online air quality status using real-time data and fixes its communication errors. Prepare monthly air quality monitoring reports for Air Quality Monitoring Station (AQMS) network and monitor AQMS performance, schedules AQMS site visits and manage AQMS database as per QA/QC.
•    Conducts QA/QC check of AQMS network and maintains record of internal audits for tracking of network performance and develops periodic preventive maintenance program as per QA/QC requirements.
•    Prepare detailed reports of environmental investigations and follows-up with operations to formulate recommendations for remedial actions to be adopted.
•    Carries out other related duties as assigned by the Management to fully contribute to the wide range of unit activities.

•    Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes.
•    Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with best industry standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.
Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability
•    Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures, controls, applicable legislation, and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices.
Reports
•    Provide inputs to prepare MIS and progress reports for Company Management.

Internal Communications & Working Relationships

•    Frequent contacts, with environmental protection, laboratory and waste management facility personnel in ADNOC, the Group of Companies and Affiliate Companies for coordinating work on environmental matters.  
•    Regular contacts with ADNOC Group of Companies’ field / HSE engineers to provide assistance on environmental management matters.  




External Communications & Working Relationships

•    Regular contacts with Contractors and third party in order to manage the ongoing related projects.
•    Participate with various Government authorities for coordinating work on environmental matters.  




Minimum Qualification

Bachelor Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science or equivalent. 




Minimum Experience, Knowledge & Skills

8 years of experience in Environmental engineering functions of which 3 years should be in a similar position in the oil & gas industry.




Professional Certifications

Professional qualification (NEBOSH, QEP, etc)

•    Normally air-conditioned office environment, but could be exposed to the prevailing weather conditions involving heat, humidity, etc. while on site visits.
