About Rule:
Review and verify static equipment corrosion rates and ensure that are maintained within acceptable limits and risk of failure is maintained with in ALARP level.
Identify and review existing and future damage mechanisms associated with corrosion loops and process streams.
Determine or estimate corrosion rates and remaining life
Determine and recommend corrosion mitigation plans which can include material changes, inspection frequencies, chemical injection options.
Ensures that all technical aspects related to corrosion & metallurgy control management assessment are undertaken in conformance with company standards and / or industry codes of practice.
Provide support in technical expertise in area of Metallurgy and corrosion to Inspection, Operations and Maintenance.
Conduct and/or participate in Failure Investigation, root cause analysis for corrosion and metallurgical cases and identify and assess the damage mechanism and corrosion loop.
Ensures satisfactory implementation and evaluation of all chemical treatment programs formulated for internal corrosion control.
Ensures updating the available data management systems with corrosion and metallurgy findings of each equipment/facility and major problem areas are accurately and timely logged and identified.
Manage the Cathodic Protection (CP) monitoring and troubleshooting activities and interfaces with 3rd party CP services contractor.
Qualification and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Metallurgy/Mechanical/Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
8 years of experience as Corrosion Engineer including at least 4 years in an oil and gas operating facility
