SENIOR ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to be based in Dubai, supporting the Design of an onshore oil and gas project in the Middle East. The ideal candidate must have extensive experience in the engineering sector of oil and gas projects and a strong background in Detailed Engineering.

JOB RESPONSIBILITES:

• Lead the electrical engineering design for an onshore oil and gas project, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications.
• Perform Detailed Engineering activities, including power system design, equipment selection, and electrical layouts.
• Conduct power system studies, including load flow, short circuit, arc flash, and protection coordination analysis.
• Prepare technical specifications, data sheets, and requisitions for electrical equipment such as transformers, switchgear, motors, and generators.
• Provide technical support for procurement, vendor selection, and review of supplier documentation.
• Ensure compliance with international codes and standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE, NEC, API, and client-specific requirements).
• Coordinate with multi-discipline engineering teams to ensure smooth integration of electrical systems.
• Support the client, project management, and site teams by providing technical expertise and resolving engineering issues.
• Conduct technical evaluations, design reviews, and provide recommendations for improvements.
• Ensure that all designs are optimized for safety, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Provide support for site construction, commissioning, and startup as needed.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 10-15 years of experience as a Senior Electrical Engineer in an oil & gas engineering company.
• Strong experience in Detailed Engineering for onshore oil and gas projects.
• Proficiency in electrical design software such as ETAP, SmartPlant Electrical, and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of power system studies, equipment specifications, and industry standards.
• Experience working with EPC contractors, engineering consultancies, or oil & gas operators.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills for working with project teams and clients.
