Job Description

Job Purpose:


  • Preparing Engineering documents, coordinating with Engineering consultant for reviewing project design, drawings, calculations, etc.
  • Providing the assistance to planning engineer to prepare the Project Schedule.
  • Prepare and submit weekly and monthly report to client.
  • Preparing monthly invoice as per project progress & submitting to client for approval, follow-up with client for early approval.
  • Follow-up with procurement team, and coordinating with Procurement team and vendors for the material delivery as per schedule for the assigned projects.
  • Monitoring compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications as per client requirements.
  • Attending project review meeting with the clients to interpret their requirements, project progress, invoice status, Project completion and handover.

Additional Information


  • Interfacing with Engineering, Quality, Vendors and site to ensure all equipment’s delivered are fit for purpose and Just in time for the project thereby reducing working capital and rework cost to the company.
  • Verifying single line diagram, cable schedule & equipment layout cable destination and origin prior to cable laying & glanding, termination works.
  • Co-ordination with vendor for arranging testing and commissioning work & supporting vendor during testing & commissioning for Transformer, MV & LV panels.
  • Coordination with sub-contractor for full compliance of work execution as per scope of work.
  • Monitor drawing / material / work conformances with provisions as per specification
  • Supervise the production of co-ordination drawings to ensure that all services are coordinated with each other and the building structure is complying with the contract requirements
  • Follow up the status of material and shop drawings and keep all parties informed of the status and follow up the implementation of the Clients comments in timely manner.
  • Distribute detailed information, documents and regulations as applicable to all concerned parties and ensure their acknowledgement and adherence to its contents.
  • Provide Technical support and solve all Site technical issues to ensure completion of Projects within the stipulated time.
  • At project close out co-ordinate the production of as built drawings to ensure they are delivered as per the contract requirements in terms of quality and time.
  • Preparing cable sizing calculation for client approval.
  • Preparing manpower & work schedule in accordance with work front availability for next three month.
  • Execution of work with proper material & typical standard as per client approved document.
  • Erection of power & distribution transformer, 33KV switchgear, 415V switchgear, SMDB and DB
  • Verifying schematic drawing design of panels.
  • Preparation of testing and commissioning documents for client submission.
  • Installation of bus-duct in substation area as per project installation drawing.
  • Installation of street light poles (8-meter, 10 meters, and 3-meter light poles).
  • Installation of different types of lighting fixtures in sub-station, non-process buildings & all around the plant.
  • Arrangement of all the equipment & material for LV, MV switchgear & transformer panel erection in the site.
  • Verifying electrical trench and tray routing for cable quantification for purchase request.
  • Equipment’s quantification by verifying with approved client drawings prior to raise purchase request.
  • Maintaining contract scope variation documents up to date to record to support contracts department.
  • Maintaining work front delay dates as per committed schedule from client & idle manpower in record to support contracts department.
  • Verifying equipment location layout prior to cable laying.
  • Verifying & execution of work as per shop drawing in buildings.
  • Raising of technical query to electrical design department if any mismatch in design standards.
  • Verifying of cable and load schedule prior to order the cable & laying in trench/tray.
  • Verifying supports fabrication size & material standard as per typical installation drawing for cable tray, lighting installation etc.,
  • Organizing the manpower allocation as per the client work & priority requirement in the designated area.
  • Site survey to find the exact requirements to complete the work.
  • Proper coordination & communication with vendor & procurement department for the material purchase.
  • Responsible for invoicing, cost accounting, maintaining and improving project margins by various measures with vendors like effective design, reduced change management.
  • Preparing & handling engineering coordination between various departments for project scheduling, drawing approval.
  • Coordinate with purchase Department, supplier & Main stores for the timely delivery of required materials to the projects.
  • Planning & execution of work as per project schedule.
  • To attend the client meeting, preparation of DPR & raising RFI for QC inspection.
  • To check the entire work as according to IFC drawings.
  • Coordination with yard team for the timely delivery of cable drum and materials
  • Preparing of final dossier document and as built drawing for client submission.
  • Responsible for driving the equipment’s from Request for Quote till handing over to client
  • Monitoring the Project schedule, Cost, Scope, Quality and Risk management.
  • Co-ordinating with customer to get the Project acceptance certificate and final invoice submission.
  • Monitoring the Scope, productivity, schedule & cost throughout the contract.
  • To increase the profit percentage by Effective design, faster approval, managing inventory, quick execution of contract.
  • Coordinating with Customer, Consultants, End users, Factory, Design, Sales teams for effective execution of contract.
  • Ensuring that risk assessed, safety rules and regulations are communicated to the workforce and strictly enforced prior to work execution.

Qualifications
  • Minimum Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Instrumentation with 10+Years minimum) in the oil & gas, power & infrastructure industry.
  • Affinity and familiar with Engineering, Procurement and Contracting aspects in the business.

Additional Information

Experience Requirements:


  • Experience level: 10+ years
  • 05 years or more experience UAE or Middle East
  • Minimum 03 years as Project Engineer on medium to large scale projects in similar business or industry
  • HSE compliance and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams

  Skills & Professional Requirements:


  1. Proven project management experience as well as a good understanding of business issues.
  2. Good level of experience in the related field, industry, and locations of the work in UAE with customers.
  3. Have worked as a Project Engineer on the electrical & instrumentation projects.
  4. Knowledge of commercial and contract conditions applicable to the procurement of various types of goods and services.
  5. Good knowledge and experience in project monitoring and forecasting
  6. Ability to manage change control process on project with subcontractors and interfaces (if any).
  7. In-depth knowledge of all types of project information (deliverables) and its uses and capable of managing information management project team
  8. Good knowledge of all handover and close-out activities required for client, and suppliers.
