Key Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible to carry out or follow-up with project team for execution of the electrical work within allotted cost, time, productivity, quality and safety standards and in accordance with specifications and drawings. Participates in engineering, design, and construction review processes related to electrical trade to ensure they adhere to the standards. Shall be able to review and interpret the Electrical specifications along with overall MEP specifications. Conduct site inspections to ensure adherence to project scope, engineering standards and specifications. Coordinate with office staff, consultants, contractors, and other personnel as per project base line program for in time project completion. Participate in client and internal meetings about technical and cost-related aspects. Provides guidance, managerial, technical support to complete project team. Review and comment on all electrical engineering related to design for all major and minor projects. Work closely with project managers, project engineers, and procurement teams to optimize the quality of projects. Preparing and maintaining updates for periodical status reports for management updates. Prepare periodic reports for management including status of budgets, variance/change claims, schedules, disputes, up-coming activities & safety records. Ensure that the health and safety requirements are provided and that they comply with authority regulations.
Competencies:
Detailed engineering and construction process knowledge in electrical, ELV and BMS services. Knowledge on below mentioned systems is sought: High Voltage, Medium voltage & Low voltage (cables, bus bars, MDB’s, MCC’s, SMDB’s, DB’s etc.) Small power Normal lighting Emergency lighting, Central battery etc. Fire Alarm and Public address system CCTV, Access control system & security. Building management system. Any other system that may be necessary. Outline knowledge of civil and architectural design. Knowledge of the overall construction processes and operating practices. Knowledge of the project planning would be an added advantage. Thorough knowledge on process involving design, selection, procurement, fabrication, installation, testing & commissioning of MEP services is required. Thorough knowledge of CAD is preferred. Interpret drawings, safety training, computer skills and communications skills in English Language (read, write and speak).
Job requirements
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:
Minimum bachelor’s degree from a renowned university in the field of electrical engineering. Minimum 10 years of experience in the gulf over various types of projects execution. Shall be familiar with requirements and guidelines of UAE authorities such as ADDC/AADC/DEWA, Etisalat, Civil Defense, etc. Knowledge on all international Electrical codes/standards like NFPA, NEC, IEC, IEEE, NEMA, BS, etc., and other codes related to trade.
