We are a leading construction company looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our financial team. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing and overseeing all accounting activities to ensure accurate financial reporting and providing the necessary financial support for managing large-scale projects. The ideal candidate should be well-versed in accounting requirements within the construction sector and have experience handling multi-faceted projects.
Responsibilities:
• Monitor and ensure accurate accounting entries for daily project-related transactions such as contract management, direct and indirect costs, and invoicing.
• Manage accounts receivable and payable and ensure the reconciliation of accounts related to suppliers and subcontractors.
• Monitor and review project costs to ensure alignment with allocated budgets.
• Prepare tax reports and ensure compliance with local and international tax and financial regulations.
• Coordinate with various teams to ensure alignment between accounting and project execution.
• Provide support for internal and external audit processes and ensure the availability of required financial documentation.
• Manage cash flows and provide periodic reports on the financial status of the company and its projects.
• Develop and enhance accounting policies and procedures that align with the construction sector’s nature.
• Provide financial analyses and recommendations to senior management regarding project performance and strategic decision-making.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (professional certifications such as CPA or CMA are preferred).
• A minimum of 5 years of practical accounting experience, with at least two years in a Senior Accountant role in the construction sector.
• Strong knowledge of international accounting standards (IFRS or GAAP) and accounting standards related to the construction industry.
• Experience managing complex project accounts and ensuring cost accuracy.
• Excellent proficiency in accounting software, particularly QuickBooks and Odoo (Odoo experience is preferred).
• Strong financial analysis skills and the ability to solve project-related cost issues.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills with executive teams and contractors.
