1. Preparation and Assessment Site Inspection: Conduct a thorough inspection of the roof to assess the condition of existing waterproofing, detect any potential leaks or damage, and determine the type of waterproofing system required. Cleaning: Clear debris, dirt, and moss from the roof surface to ensure proper adhesion of the waterproofing material. Repairs: Repair any cracks, holes, or structural damages before proceeding with waterproofing. Surface Preparation: Clean and prepare the surface by pressure washing or sanding to remove any contaminants like oil, grease, or previous coatings.
2. Selection of Waterproofing System Material Selection: Choose the appropriate waterproofing material, such as liquid-applied membranes, bituminous coatings, PVC membranes, EPDM, or TPO Design Specifications: Define the design, including waterproofing thickness, edge details, drainage points, and expansion joints.
3. Application of Waterproofing System Priming: Apply a primer (if required) to the roof surface to improve bonding of the waterproofing layer. Layering: Apply the chosen waterproofing system, which may involve one or multiple layers of the material. Each layer needs to be applied carefully, ensuring even coverage and proper curing times. Sealing: Pay special attention to seams, joints, penetrations (such as vents, chimneys, and pipes), and edges. These areas are prone to leaks and require additional sealing. Curing: Allow the waterproofing material to cure according to the manufacturer’s guidelines.
4. Testing and Inspection Waterproofing Test: Conduct a flood test or water test to check for leaks after the waterproofing has been applied. Final Inspection: Perform a final inspection to ensure the system is properly installed and no areas are missed.
5. Cleaning and Maintenance Clean-Up: Remove any waste materials, tools, and excess product from the site. Maintenance Recommendations: Provide the client with guidelines for routine maintenance and care to extend the life of the waterproofing system.
6. Documentation and Handover Warranty: Provide the client with a warranty for the waterproofing system, covering a specified period and detailing the coverage. Completion Report: Provide a report detailing the work completed, materials used, and any inspections or tests performed.

Unless:
(a) Vendor has obtained the prior written consent of SAGA to the use of the subcontractor, and
(b) Vendor has entered into a separate written agreement with the subcontractor which requires the subcontractor to agree to and abide by all the terms and conditions of this Agreement.
The Community shall be deemed to be a third-party beneficiary of any such agreement between the vendor and a permitted subcontractor.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, the vendor shall not be relieved of any of its duties or obligations under this Agreement as a result of entering into a written agreement with a permitted subcontractor.
