The InterContinental Hotels Group® properties in Dubai Festival City consist of four hotels. These include the luxury brand InterContinental, the lavish long-stay InterContinental Residence Suites, the superior upscale Crowne Plaza, and the vibrant mid-scale Holiday Inn & Suites. In addition to over 1600 rooms, the four properties boast a selection of 16 restaurants and bars, an impressive 3,800-square-metre Event Centre across two levels, the 5,000-square-metre Festival Arena by InterContinental, the luxurious Spa InterContinental, and state-of-the-art gymnasium and swimming pool facilities. A little taste of your day-to-day:


  • Meeting and greeting all guests and potential guests at the front of the Events Lobby ensuring prior the following procedures :   
  • Meeting rooms are ready to receive guests prior to opening and both wait staff and setups are ready in line with opening standards
  • Meeting rooms are set up according to brand standards
  • Operating equipment is clean and in working order
  • Welcoming and assisting guests to the meeting space
  • Being attentive to guest requests
  • Redirecting guests to Lunch venues in IHG DFC
  • Maintaining impeccable uniform and personal presentational standards in accordance with hotel policy
  • Being attentive to guests and resolve their complaints where possible, reporting all incidents to the Supervisor
  • Maintaining responsibility of cleanliness of hostess stations
  • Assisting with beverage service where necessary
  • Assisting with food service where necessary
  • Assisting with weddings and communicating with organiser
  • Assisting Service team whenever needed
  • Ensuring meeting rooms are cleared quietly and efficiently
  • Having an overview of all meeting taking place in IHG DFC, effective planning, preparing and placing all the required signage stands in accordance with BEOs
  • Maintaining current information on all general activities of the hotel
  • Demonstrating awareness of OH&S policies and procedures and ensure all procedures are conducted safely and within OH&S guidelines
  • Be aware of duty of care and adhere to occupational, health and safety legislation, policies and procedures
  • Be familiar with property safety, first aid and fire and emergency procedures and operating equipment safely and sensibly
  • Initiating action to correct a hazardous situation and notifying supervisors of a potential dangers
  • Logging security incidents and accidents in accordance with hotel requirements
  • Striving for constant improvement and taking responsibility for your own performance 
  • Adhering to InterContinental Hotel Group Corporate Code of Conduct
  • Adhering to Hotel Brand Standards, Hotel Handbook, and general policies and procedures
  • Adhering to Food and Beverage Policies and Procedures
  • Reporting problems to Management with suggestions for resolution
  • Demonstrating co-operation and trust with colleagues, supervisors, teams and across departments
  • Communicating well to ensure effective shift hand-overs
  • Interacting with department and hotel staff in a professional and positive manner to foster good rapport, promote team spirit and ensure effective two way communication
  • Actively participating in training and development programs and maximising opportunities for self-development, seeking feedback on areas of shortfall
  • Understanding the hotel’s facilities, products and services, providing information when requested and promoting hotel’s services, facilities and special events
  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with all internal customers and guests in order to anticipate their needs, handling guest enquires, and solve problems
  • Creating a positive hotel image in every interaction with internal and external customers
  • Maintaining a high level of product and service knowledge in order to explain and sell services and facilities to guests
  • Assisting guests and escorting them to locations within the hotel at their request
  • Maintaining knowledge of special programs and events in the hotel in order to recognize and respond to guests needs
  • Be open to new ideas and make changes in the job and routine as required
  • Working in line with business requirements 
  • Completing tasks as directed by Management

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU


  • Communication skills – guests and colleagues will need to come to you with concerns as well as compliments, so you’ll be easy to talk to
  • Fluency in the English language - extra language skills would be great, but not essential
  • Your Time management skills will be important to know how to prioritize tasks under pressure
  • Ideally you’ll have basic skills of Microsoft Word/Excel.
  • Flexibility - night, weekend and holiday shifts are all part of the job
  • Experience - ideally you’ll have spent at least one year in a similar position in a 5 star property
  • You’ll have a high school diploma or qualification. A college or university degree would be a bonus, but not essential
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
