•Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement research training strategies that align with institutional research goals and priorities.
•Contribute to the development and revision of policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to research training and development.
•Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in training programs and strategies, incorporating best practices and innovative approaches.
•Oversee the systematic collection, collation, and analysis of research-related data and metadata, ensuring accurate and comprehensive reporting on research outputs, impact metrics, and key performance indicators. Provide insights and reports to inform strategic decision-making and enhance the institution's research performance and visibility.

Data Collection and Reporting:
•Collate and manage comprehensive information on research outputs, research income, and researcher profiles.
•Ensure accurate and timely reporting of research statistics for internal and external stakeholders.
•Develop and maintain databases and systems for efficient data management and reporting.
Policy Development:
•Develop, update, and implement research-related policies in alignment with institutional goals and regulatory requirements.
•Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure policies are well-communicated and adhered to across the institution.
Capacity Development:
•Identify training needs and design capacity development programs to enhance researchers’ skills and knowledge.
•Organize and facilitate workshops, seminars, and training sessions for researchers.
•Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make necessary adjustments for continuous improvement.
Marketing and Communications:
•Develop and execute internal and external marketing strategies to promote the institution’s research activities and achievements.
•Create and disseminate engaging content through various channels, including newsletters, social media, and institutional websites.
•Foster relationships with external partners, funding bodies, and the wider research community to enhance collaboration and visibility.
Stakeholder Engagement:
•Work closely with principal investigators, research staff, and administrative departments to understand their training needs and priorities.
•Serve as the primary point of contact for data collection and reporting, policy development, capacity development and providing clear and consistent communication to all stakeholders.
•Build and maintain partnerships with external organizations, professional bodies, and training providers.
Resource Management:
•Develop and manage budgets related to the roles and responsibilities, , ensuring effective use of resources and adherence to financial constraints.
•Identify and secure funding opportunities to support these initiatives, including grant applications and sponsorships.
Additional Duties as Assigned by the Dean
•Perform any other administrative or project-based tasks as requested by the Dean of Research and Graduate Studies, including special assignments related to research management, event coordination, strategic initiatives or institutional reporting, to support the overall functioning of the Deanship.
Developmental Responsibilities
•Sets performance objectives to the team while ensuring that the operational plan of the department will be achieved.
•Leads, manages, evaluates performance and motivates the employees of the section while ensuring that the overall objectives of the Department are met.
•Monitors the use of the section’s resources and finding ways to utilize resources effectively.
•Conducts knowledge sharing sessions to transfer work related knowledge and skills acquired in the functional area.
•Ensures that all new employees in the section are thoroughly inducted in the responsibilities by implementing the on-boarding program.
•Bachelor’s degree in research administration, Education, Training and Development, Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
•Formal education and training in research administration, policy development, training and development, human resources, or a closely related field.
•Master’s degree in administration, Organizational Development, Public Health, Education, Biological Sciences or related advanced program.
•Experience in strategic planning and policy development

•Extensive experience in developing and managing training programs for researchers and staff.
•Proficiency in using data analysis tools and software.
•Ability to compile analyze and management to generate metadata and reports on research performance
•Understanding of research policies, regulatory requirements, and best practices in research administration
•Knowledge of training and development methodologies, and instructional design.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
