Performs the professional duties of a neonatologist.
Makes daily rounds related to patients in the hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and the normal newborn nursery; performs general or special examinations and other procedures covering the full scope of the field of neonatology. Orders laboratory examinations and X-rays, determines diagnosis, prescribes nursing and dietary care necessary, orders or applies such preventive measures as required.
Provides in-patient care to the newborn and attends difficult delivery or cesarean section deliveries.
Serves as a specialist in neonatology providing consultative services to the other Medical Services. Provides technical assistance with pediatric patients. Determines the eligibility of neonatology admissions.
Reviews journals, texts or periodicals in order to keep current on latest techniques and procedures of neonatal intensive care.
Participates in scheduled in-service training programs, divisional teaching activities, the regular physicians' conference, or other committees as requested.
To perform his duties in the Pediatric Outpatient Clinic to see well and sick babies up to the age of one year.
Provides on-call emergency coverage for pediatric emergencies.
Performs other miscellaneous related duties as requested.
To follow appropriate international guidelines, DHA regulations & Joint Commission International norms while treating or managing patients as well as while discharging their professional duties.
