Regional Operations Manager MEA

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Regional Operations Manager to oversee our desalination plant operations across the MEA region, primarily in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and other GCC countries. The successful candidate will work closely with local plant managers to ensure optimal plant performance, efficient maintenance, and adherence to budgets and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with local plant managers to ensure smooth daily operations and water production at all desalination facilities in the region.

   
   

2. Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance strategies, including:

   
   

   • Corrective maintenance plans

     
     

   • Preventive maintenance schedules

     
     

   • Predictive maintenance programs, with a focus on membrane performance

     
     

3. Design and manage a regional spare parts strategy to minimize downtime and optimize inventory across all plants.

   
   

4. Create and oversee annual maintenance plans and budgets for each facility.

   
   

5. Monitor and analyze chemical and spare part consumption across all plants, identifying opportunities for optimization and cost savings.

   
   

6. Develop yearly operational plans in conjunction with plant managers and ensure their proper implementation.

   
   

7. Track and manage all maintenance-related expenses, including spare parts, consumables, and chemicals.

   
   

8. Implement best practices in desalination plant operations, including:

   
   

   • Water quality management

     
     

   • Energy efficiency optimization

     
     

   • Environmental compliance

     
     

   • Safety protocols and procedures

     
     

9. Conduct regular site visits to assess plant conditions, provide guidance, and ensure adherence to company standards and local regulations.

   
   

10. Analyze plant performance data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.

    
    

11. Coordinate with other departments, such as procurement and engineering, to ensure seamless support for plant operations.

    
    

12. Manage relationships with key suppliers and contractors to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.

    
    

13. Develop and implement training programs for plant personnel to enhance their skills and knowledge.

    
    

14. Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes in desalination plant operations.

    
    

1. Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
2. Minimum of 10 years of experience in desalination plant operations, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
3. Proven track record in managing multiple desalination facilities across different countries.
4. Strong understanding of reverse osmosis technology and other desalination processes.
5. Experience in developing and implementing maintenance strategies and budgets.
6. Excellent knowledge of water treatment chemicals, spare parts, and consumables management.
7. Familiarity with predictive maintenance techniques, particularly for membrane systems.
8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
10. Proficiency in relevant software applications, including ERP systems, and data analysis tools.
11. Willingness to travel frequently within the MEA region.
12. Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is a plus.
