Commercial Director (META)



Location: Remote (Dubai-based team)
Reports to: VP of High Growth Markets (HGM) responsible for META and LATAM

About the Role:



The Commercial Director (META) for Leica Biosystems is responsible for driving the growth of our business across the Middle East, Turkey, and Africa (META) region. This role focuses on maximizing sales and profitability by aggressively gaining market share and leveraging the full Leica Biosystems product portfolio. Success in this position requires a results-driven mindset, strategic leadership, and the ability to thrive in a competitive and emerging marketplace.
Key to this role is the effective use of Danaher Business System (DBS) tools to optimize sales processes, convert leads into revenue, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:



Develop and execute short-term (current and next year) and long-term (3-5 years) regional sales strategies to drive market share growth and consistently deliver financial targets.
Foster a culture of unwavering integrity and high performance.
Lead, coach, and mentor direct reports and their teams to achieve excellence.
Identify and capitalize on market opportunities, ensuring the implementation of targeted marketing activities.
Own regional forecasting through rigorous funnel management and opportunity reviews, tracking KPIs weekly, monthly, and quarterly.
Build and nurture relationships with key accounts and senior industry stakeholders.
Ensure 100% market visibility per quarter, per business segment, and per customer segment, validated and shared with management.
Champion continuous improvement initiatives using Danaher Business System (DBS) principles.

Essential Requirements:



Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, engineering, or business (B.Sc. or BA).
Willingness and ability to travel across META, Europe, and the USA.
Fluency in English and Arabic (French is a plus).
15+ years of experience in multinational companies within the medical field, with a proven track record of success.
Strong analytical and financial acumen in complex environments.
Demonstrated growth mindset and familiarity with growth vs. performance engines in organizations.
Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise independent judgment.
Proven experience as a people manager, with a focus on developing and enabling teams.
Excellent presentation and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:



Experience with capital equipment and consumables.
Established relationships with key accounts in the META region.
