Requirements
Graduate, university degree - preferably with a technical background
Other OHS Courses viz NEBOSH IGC, IOSH MS
UAE Driver’s License
Knowledge of ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001.UAE Health and Safety Regulations
Excellent English written and verbal skills, and knowledge of sub-Asian language (preferably)
Proficient with MS Office applications, adept in learning new software
Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in QHSSE activities with a shipping / warehousing / transport / marine operational background and experience of risk assessment and accident investigation

Job Description
The QHSSE Representative role is to support the Shipping Management team in ensuring the highest possible standards of safety are achieved and maintained throughout the Shipping Dubai and Fujairah operational areas. Essentially reporting directly into the General Manager Shipping, the QHSSE Representative will also be required to answer to the HSSE Manager / QA Manager regarding HSSE / QA related matters in Shipping.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct site visits to ensure that safe practises are being applied in all Shipping operational areas and check the work of any contractors working on site
Plan HSSE inspections/audits for shipping service providers (including vehicles, launches, contractors). Verify actions taken and supporting evidence to ensure it is adequate.
Manage all accidents/incidents in the Shipping team using the GAC qhsse online reporting system. Administer the appointment of investigators and follow up until completion. Verify actions taken and supporting evidence to ensure it is adequate.
Ensure Emergency Preparedness Plans are available and updated at all areas and that staff are trained on proper response. Conducts regular drills.
Make HSSE Management system documents available to staff on timely basis. Assist HSSE in developing relevant SOPs, SSOW for Shipping and implementing the same at all Shipping operations.
Relevant HSSE Training to be identified and communicated to the GM Shipping / HSSE Manager. Ensure HSSE Inductions for all new joiners in Shipping.
Organise rgular HSSE Committee meetings where all relevant HSSE matters are discussed and actions agreed.
Ensure Risk Assessments are conducted and periodically reviewed for Shipping related activities
Compile and report HSSE KPI related data to the HSSE team. Compile quarterly HSSE initiatives for Shipping and report them to HSSE team.
Ensure monthly HSSE Bulletins, Weekly TBTs etc. are effectively communicated to all parties in the Shipping team.
Coordinate audits and inspections from clients or other external parties for Shipping departments and ensure compliance.
