Project Manager – PV Systems (Abu Dhabi UAE)

Reporting To: Team Leader PV

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Management & Execution

   
   
   • Lead and manage projects from initiation to completion, acting as the main point of contact for clients.
   • Prepare and implement comprehensive Project Execution Plans (PEP).
   • Manage project scope, budget, schedule, quality, cash flow, and stakeholders effectively.

2. Planning & Coordination

   
   
   • Plan workload and resource allocation in alignment with the project schedule.
   • Organize and lead internal and external project meetings, including review workshops.
   • Ensure discipline interfaces are well integrated to meet project objectives.

3. Monitoring & Compliance

   
   
   • Supervise weekly and monthly progress reporting.
   • Monitor compliance with applicable codes, QA/QC procedures, performance standards, and specifications.
   • Identify project dependencies, critical paths, and manage risks with mitigation strategies.

4. Communication & Leadership

   
   
   • Communicate project expectations and client requirements to team members clearly.
   • Coach, mentor, and supervise project team members and subcontractors, fostering accountability.
   • Build and maintain business relationships essential to project success.

5. Continuous Improvement

   
   
   • Conduct “lessons learned” meetings to refine future project processes.
   • Develop and implement best practices and tools for project execution and management.
   • Support staff training and contribute to the development of Company-UEO’s capabilities.

6. Administrative & Technical Contributions

   
   
   • Manage project proposals in line with tender requirements.
   • Provide technical support to identify problems and implement corrective actions.
   • Attend company-organized training courses and ensure IMS compliance.

   • Proficiency in MS Office, with basic skills in MS Project and Primavera.
   • High awareness of safe working practices, particularly for large-scale facilities.

Competency Requirements

1. Technical Expertise

   
   
   • Extensive knowledge of Solar Power (PV) and Middle Eastern markets.
   • Proven expertise in PV Power Plants (PVPP) and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
   • Experience in commissioning PVPP and BESS with a strong understanding of HSSE standards and safety best practices.
   • Knowledge of risk assessment tools (e.g., HAZID, HAZOP, PRA).
   • Proficiency in grid impact assessments and technical interface understanding between PV, BESS, and other systems.

2. Project Management & Contracts

   
   
   • Expertise in engineering and consultancy contract models.
   • Understanding of project control methods (WBS, CWBS, invoicing, progress evaluation).
   • Skilled in preparing engineering budgets and managing procurement and subcontractor agreements.

3. Quality & Communication

   
   
   • Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
   • Proven ability to lead and manage teams, motivate staff, and mentor juniors.
   • Experience in Quality Assurance and Quality Control practices.

4. Software Proficiency

   
   
   • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Visio, Word, PowerPoint).
   • Knowledge of MS Project scheduling and understanding of Primavera P6 schedules.
