We are currently recruiting for a Project Cost Controller on behalf of a leading international energy company for a significant project based in Dubai. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with experience in cost control within the oil and gas sector to join a dynamic team and contribute to the successful management of a large-scale project.
As a Project Cost Controller, you will play a crucial role in ensuring effective budget management for this high-profile project. You will be responsible for monitoring project expenses, tracking budget performance, and identifying trends that require corrective actions to prevent overruns. You will also work closely with package leads, contractors, and vendors to manage potential scope changes and their impact on the budget.
- Monitor project expenses and alert the team to potential budget overruns.
- Track and analyze budget performance against work progress.
- Identify trends and advise on corrective actions to prevent cost deviations.
- Collaborate with contractors and vendors to assess the cost impact of scope changes and update the project forecast accordingly.
- Prepare monthly cost reports and participate in monthly status reviews.
- Utilize SAP and Excel to manage cost tracking, reporting, and project forecasting.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in cost control, preferably within the oil and gas sector.
- Strong proficiency in SAP and Excel, with additional experience in project planning tools such as MS Project being an advantage.
- Analytical skills and the ability to solve complex cost management issues.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present financial data clearly to senior management and stakeholders.
- Fluency in English is required
