About Division:
Shandong Engineering Machinery Co. Ltd. manufactured SEM branded wheel loaders in China for more than 60 years and became a wholly owned subsidiary of Caterpillar in 2008.
As an important strategic brand of Caterpillar, SEM has its own brand proposition, distribution channels, marketing strategy and product support. The SEM brand of wheel loaders, soil compactors, motor graders and track-type tractors are targeted to meet customers’ needs in China and overseas markets. SEM products meet or exceed regional industry requirements for quality and reliability.
The Opportunity:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Product Application Specialist to join our team! In this role, you will leverage your expertise in our SEM products and services to drive successful go-to-market initiatives and support sales execution. As a subject matter expert, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our market strategy and ensuring our sales team has the tools and knowledge they need to succeed.
Responsibilities:
Providing product application expertise at point of sale, or by delivering various types of product training including applied technology, job efficiency, and safety to customers, company and dealers' sales personnel.
Conduct product performance studies, assess customer job sites efficiency, collecting product and customer requirements in order to create input for product improvement process and new product introduction program.
Manages the marketing technology tools/systems and works with key stakeholders to develop a marketing technology product roadmap to drive business growth.

Negotiating: Knowledge of successful negotiation concepts and techniques; ability to negotiate successfully across the organization and with external vendors and clients in a constructive and collaborative manner.
Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.
Technical Excellence: Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.
Value Selling: Knowledge of the principles and practices for selling products, technology and services; ability to provide overall product/service 'value' and to differentiate support offerings that address clearly understood customer needs.
What will put you forward:
Proven experience (5 - 8 years minimum) In a similar role, within the construction industry, specifically in Africa and the Middle East and Central Asia.
A completed university degree in Engineering, Marketing or related field.
Additional Information:
Must be willing to travel – over 50%
Relocation not supported.
