About the Role
We seek an accomplished Procurement Manager to lead and optimise our sourcing and procurement operations. This critical role will be responsible for the end-to-end procurement lifecycle, ensuring that our strategies align with the company's financial objectives while maintaining quality and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional negotiation skills and a proven track record of building strategic partnerships with vendors to deliver maximum value to the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and Implement Sourcing Strategies: Formulate innovative sourcing strategies that enhance procurement processes, reduce costs, and improve supplier performance.
- Supplier Identification and Management: Research, evaluate, and establish relationships with profitable suppliers and strategic partners to foster collaboration and drive value.
- Lead Contract Negotiations: Negotiate contracts with external vendors to secure favourable terms, pricing, and conditions that align with company objectives.
- Procurement Authorisation: Approve and oversee the procurement of essential goods and services, ensuring alignment with company needs and budgetary constraints.
- Finalise Purchase Orders: Confirm and finalise purchase order details to ensure timely delivery and compliance with specifications.
- Contract Evaluation: Regularly review and analyse existing contracts to assess performance, compliance, and opportunities for improvement.
- Monitor Key Performance Metrics: Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify opportunities for cost reduction, efficiency improvements, and supplier performance.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with internal departments, including finance and operations, to clarify specifications, expectations, and procurement objectives.
- Market Trend Analysis: Conduct ongoing analysis of market trends and supplier dynamics to anticipate changes and adjust procurement strategies accordingly.
- Risk Management: Identify and assess risks associated with supply contracts and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
- Cost Control and Savings Initiatives: Manage procurement expenditures and promote a culture of long-term cost savings throughout the organisation.
- Supplier Performance Assessment: Establish supplier performance criteria and conduct regular evaluations to ensure compliance and quality standards.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Cost Savings Achieved: Measure the percentage of cost savings achieved against the budget.
- Supplier Performance Rating: Track supplier performance based on quality, delivery, and compliance metrics.
- Procurement Cycle Time: Measure the average time from requisition to order fulfilment.
- Contract Compliance Rate: Assess the percentage of contracts adhered to by suppliers.
- Spend Under Management: Calculate the percentage of total spending managed through approved procurement processes.
- Supplier Diversity: Monitor the percentage of procurement spend allocated to diverse suppliers.
- Risk Mitigation Effectiveness: Evaluate the number of risks identified versus those successfully mitigated in procurement activities.
- Stakeholder Satisfaction: Conduct surveys to assess the satisfaction levels of internal stakeholders regarding procurement services.
- Adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Ensure compliance with existing company procurement SOPs while actively seeking opportunities to enhance and improve these processes as needed.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Proven experience as a Procurement Manager, Procurement Officer, or Head of Procurement.
- Strong understanding of sourcing and procurement techniques, with the ability to analyse market trends and data.
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency with supplier and third-party management software and analytics tools.
- Strong analytical skills and solid aptitude for financial data and decision-making.
- Experience in data collection and analysis to drive procurement strategies.
- Excellent leadership abilities to inspire and guide a team effectively.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, focusing on strategic sourcing.
- Multilingual proficiency in English, Arabic, Hindi, or French is highly desirable.
