PROCESS DRAFTSMAN

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

As a Process Draftsman you will utilize technical expertise to create detailed drawings and schematics for process systems within the oil and gas industry. You will ensures that all design documents are accurate, compliant with industry standards, and meet client specifications. You will work closely with engineers and other design professionals to produce high-quality drawings that facilitate the successful execution of process engineering projects.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Create detailed process design drawings, including process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and equipment layouts.
• Ensure all drawings comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and client specifications.
• Collaborate with process engineers, mechanical engineers, and other design professionals to gather necessary information and ensure design accuracy.
• Update and revise existing drawings based on project changes and feedback.
• Conduct quality checks and reviews of drawings to identify and correct any discrepancies or errors.
• Maintain organized records of all design documents and revisions.
• Participate in design meetings and provide input on drawing requirements and standards.
• Assist in the preparation of design documentation and reports for clients and stakeholders.
• Stay updated with the latest drafting software, tools, and industry best practices to continuously improve drawing quality and efficiency.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

• Diploma or associate degree in drafting, engineering technology, or a related field.
• 8-10 years of experience in process drafting within the oil and gas industry.
• Proficiency in drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, SmartPlant P&ID).
• Experience with 3D modeling software (e.g., PDMS, SP3D).
• Familiarity with process simulation tools (e.g., Aspen HYSYS).
• Professional certification or licensure in drafting or engineering technology.
• Strong understanding of industry standards, codes, and regulations.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in creating technical drawings.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
