Job Description
We at GEMS International School, Al Khail are looking for an experienced Technology and Innovation Coach to join our Primary team for the Academic Year commencing August 2025.

Job Purpose
Provide leadership in the school by working with teachers and students to effectively integrate the use of technology into instruction that meets international and IB standards.
Job Description includes but not limited to:
Coaching Inspire educators to use technology to enhance high quality learning.
Co-teach and collaborate with teachers Pk-Grade 5
Plan and design PYP lessons and units that invite innovation.
Meet with parents to educate and inspire
Lead professional development for educators and leaders in using technology to advance teaching a learning.
Review and use data to support the use of technology to improve learning and access to learning
Model and coach digital citizenship and the associated responsibilities
Instruction
Remain abreast of new technologies for teaching and learning
Consult on IT integration into units of inquiry and single subjects
Select and uses appropriate technology to support ATL skills
Introduce and Implement appropriate instructional strategies for integrating technology into instruction.
Assess students' learning/instructional needs to identify the appropriate technology for instruction.
Manage technology in the classroom to maximize student access and learning.
Use technology to promote student-centered learning environments including hands-on activities.
Uses technology to increase student engagement though collaboration and communication.
Uses technology to solve problems and increase critical/creative thinking.
Uses technology to differentiate instruction by content, process and product.
Applies and models legal and ethical use of technology
Technology Integration
Supports teachers as they integrate technology into instruction and utilize technology resources in the classroom.
Understands and models teaching that incorporates 21st Century Learning Skills and student centered learning through student engagement.
Works collaboratively with classroom teachers to plan and deliver technology integrated lessons that support technology across the curriculum.
Models creative and innovative uses of technology in classroom instruction.
Works with teachers to model, coach, and teach technology skills.
Provides models for teachers in differentiating instruction through the use of technology to meet individual learning needs and to support a variety of learning styles and modalities.
Evaluates and reflects upon professional practices, emerging technologies, and current research to support student learning.
Establishes and/or maintains agreements and procedures for the use of technology Maintains and updates software and hardware inventories.
Skills
The ideal candidate will have: A certified professional teaching qualification at degree level, such as B.Ed, PGCE, PGDE or equivalent in specialism (ideally IT) A minimum of 3 years of solid and demonstrable experience within a similar role, ideally within an IB Curriculum School, however this is not mandatory.
