Job Description
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled PMC Instrumentation, Control, and Telecom Lead Engineer to oversee and manage all instrumentation, control, and telecom engineering activities for a prestigious Oil & Gas pipeline construction project in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will ensure the development and implementation of designs meet project specifications, international standards, and safety requirements. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and experience managing these disciplines within large-scale projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all instrumentation, control, and telecom engineering activities, ensuring designs and deliverables comply with project requirements and international standards.
- Develop, review, and approve technical documents, including system design, specifications, and drawings for instrumentation, control, and telecom systems.
- Oversee the selection and procurement of instrumentation and telecom equipment, ensuring compliance with technical requirements.
- Ensure seamless integration of instrumentation and telecom systems with other project components and disciplines.
- Provide technical guidance to address complex issues related to control systems, telecommunications, and instrumentation.
- Monitor contractor and subcontractor performance during design, installation, and commissioning to ensure quality and compliance.
- Support the preparation and execution of Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and commissioning activities for instrumentation and telecom systems.
- Review and resolve technical queries (TQ) and manage changes related to instrumentation, control, and telecom systems.
- Ensure compliance with HSE standards and industry best practices in all related activities.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and professional growth.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience:
- 12-15 years of experience in instrumentation, control, and telecom engineering, with a focus on Oil & Gas or large-scale pipeline construction projects.
- Proven experience in a PMC environment is highly desirable.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in design and analysis tools for instrumentation and telecom systems.
- Strong knowledge of international standards and codes related to instrumentation and telecom (e.g., ISA, IEC, API).
- Experience with SCADA, DCS, and telecom system integration.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong leadership and communication skills for effective team coordination and stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a dynamic project environment.
