Job Summary
This internship provides hands-on experience in analytical sample processing and data review to support Caterpillar S•O•S Services initiatives.
As a SOS Services Intern, you will use a variety of analytical techniques and wet chemistry to learn the testing process for process oil, fuel, and source water and/or coolant samples submitted by customers. Engineers and dealers use results to manage equipment preventive maintenance schedules. Daily tasks include Sample management, Material Inspection, Data Review and Transfer, Various In-Service Fluid Analytical Tests, Instrument Troubleshooting, Reagent Preparation, and Daily Instrument Validation.

What You Will Do:
Quality and Safety Compliance: Adhere to ISO 9001, Chemical Hygiene Plan, and participate in safety training.
Sample Management: Handle sample registration, preparation, and disposal; inspect materials and supplies.
Customer Interaction: Communicate with customers via phone or email daily.
Data Management: Collect, evaluate, and transfer data to LIMS; log non-conforming samples.
Waste and EHS Compliance: Manage waste disposal and ensure environmental health and safety compliance.
Testing and Analysis: Conduct various tests on Oil samples including Particle Count, Viscosity, FTIR, ICP, GC, TAN, TBN, Diesel Fuel and Coolant testing.
Process Monitoring: Monitor samples in process and archive instrument data.
Process Ownership: Take ownership of designated processes and troubleshoot instruments.
Administrative Tasks: Complete billing forms, record received dates and utilize Instrument Manager.

Program Qualifications:
Candidate must be current resident of the UAE and hold a valid visa/sponsorship.
Candidate must be enrolled full time at university/college in the UAE, in one of the following degree programs: Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or similar fields.
Graduation date must be May 2025 and beyond
