ORGANIZATIONAL DESCRIPTION


OliOli® creates experiences that enable creative, open-ended, curious and non-judgmental play for children aged 0-12. OliOli® consists of 8 galleries (each containing interactive, hands-on, open-ended, thought-provoking activities.)


Each zone has been designed to create experiences where children can:


  1. Use their hands to become better problem solvers
  1. Feel emotionally safe (through no judgment) and are able to take risks in low stakes environment to understand the consequences of their choices/actions
  1. Use technology in a responsible, measured and augmentative manner
  1. Gain fascination with STEAM curricula and concepts in a holistic, informal manner
  1. Develop their self-regulation and emotional intelligence

Embedded in the community it serves, OliOli® will be a hub for issues relevant to all parents and be a rejuvenating destination for parents.


BACKGROUND TO THE POST


Our café named La Petite Treehouse is a dedicated eatery for our guests which offers nutritious snacks and treats for any time of the day. Our vision for our café was something that was not merely a cafe, but a habitat of comfort, love and joy. Its the perfect spot for parents to grab a delicious cup of coffee, for kids to grab a snack to fuel the fun, or for families and friends to have a wholesome post-play meal. As such the space and the team working in it must reflect The OliOli®s distinctive character and values by offering a welcoming and efficient service, and an environment that appeals to the young and young-at-heart.


We are now looking for an enthusiastic Senior Café Server to join us on our voyage. This is a full-time role and working on weekends is a must


POSITION OVERVIEW


The Café Server role in OliOli® will be to work alongside the other members of the staff to successfully run the Café and ensure customers expectation of food and beverages and beverage and customer service are met. This may include the aspect of café operation including equipment, facilities, health and safety, customer-care and administration. The role will involve working with OliOli®s management team to achieve the best possible quality of food and beverage provision. Café Supervisor works under supervision of the Guest Engagement Manager following the set objectives and implementing OliOli® Rules and Policies.


KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


Cafe Management and Coordination


  • To set maintain, highest standards of customer service in café
  • To provide cover with the other staffs as required on a daily basis
  • To take responsibility for the presentation of food and beverages offered for sale and completion of admin duties
  • To be responsible for the monitoring and control of stocks and wastage, undertaking stock take at regular intervals with the assistance of management team
  • To work with the management team, on other projects as required
  • To ensure good timekeeping and performance by staff, and to comply at all times with security procedures
  • To assist the management team, to maintain the standards of hygiene and health and safety at all times and throughout all the catering options
  • Ensure all administration, documentation, logs and records are compiled, updated and stored as per company procedures
  • Train new employees and provide ongoing training for all staff

Financial Management


  • To operate the till and take receipt of payments
  • Ensure all cash and credit card transactions are completed according to company directives

Health & Safety


  • To comply with all Health and Safety policy, measures and legislation
  • Follow all Health and Safety policy, measures and legislation
  • Ensure the safe operation of the café and use equipment in a safe manner
  • Maintain the security of café and equipment
  • Assist with Risk Assessments and Method Statements where required
  • Report all safety matters to the Manager

Customer Service


  • To assist with customer enquiries and orders
  • To welcome customers and ensure their orders are processed efficiently
  • To work within reason to minimize customer complaints and maximize customer satisfaction

PHYSICAL DEMANDS


  • The role is expected to be physically demanding and the candidate must have the physical and emotional capacity to deal with the roles requirements.
  • This position requires the ability to do one or more of the following throughout the day stand, sit, walk, bend, and reach above and below shoulder level, carry objects of differing sizes and weights. Involves frequent repetitive motion.
  • The noise level in the work environment is highly variable, from quiet to loud.
  • The working timings include morning and/or evening shifts. Weekends and holidays work are required.

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS


Essential


  • Previous experience as a supervisor within a customer focused environment
  • Pleasant and confident customer service and communication skills.
  • To be numerate and accurate
  • A willingness to learn new systems.
  • High energy levels with cheerful disposition
  • Must be punctual with a professional outlook, able to work under own initiative without supervision
  • Willingness to understand and engage the public about the range of activities at OliOli®
  • Ability to stay calm during busy periods
  • Ability to be calm and positive when dealing with complaints or difficult situations.
  • An interest in working in a child-friendly environment.
  • Willingness to undertake appropriate training such as first aid or food hygiene

Desirable


  • Experience of using a till
  • Previous catering experience
  • An interest/enthusiasm for food
  • Knowledge of food hygiene
  • Availability to work during school holidays and occasional evenings.

NOTE: This role involves working 6 days a week.
