• Establish a Network Operations Control Center: Identify and resolve critical performance issues related to network connectivity, cabling, and network services, employing effective troubleshooting and repair methods.
• Ensure Installation of OS and Patch Updates: Manage the installation of OS and patch updates for Windows and Linux servers across the business using the necessary tools.
• Monitor IT Infrastructure: Regularly monitor the IT infrastructure and publish weekly/monthly reports to assess risks, mitigate issues, and recommend enhancements.
• Prevent Data Loss: Implement a process for recurring server backups and conduct regular disaster recovery (DR) activities to prevent potential data loss.
• Implement Automation: Use Batch/Shell scripts to automate routine activities, assisting back-end users and increasing productivity.
Experience in:
• Monitoring job logs and collecting performance data.
• Monitoring and controlling system utilities, including memory space management.
• Monitoring and upgrading operating systems (Windows and Linux).
• Monitoring system logs for scheduled jobs, user jobs, backup/restoration logs, and other system-related messages.
• Maintaining free space and managing subsystems and batch jobs.
• Setting system-wide security levels.
• Performing system clean-up in consultation with application support and users.
• Hands-on experience with JIRA or similar platforms.
Network Administration Skills:
• Experience in the installation, configuration, administration, and troubleshooting of Cisco switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs, and other network devices.
• Monitoring the operation of all network devices to ensure optimal bandwidth utilization, performance, and throughput.
• Applying best practices in networking technologies.
