Charterhouse is currently partnering with a commodities trading firm based in Dubai, who are in the process of looking to hire a Middle Office Analyst. This role sits within their trading operations team and shall be responsible for supporting the front office.
About the role
This role will oversee the full trade lifecycle, trade reconciliation and settlements, deal confirmations and P&L calculation. The Middle Office Analyst will be performing reconciliations for various commodity classes, calculating the daily profit and loss reporting’s whilst identifying any discrepancies, and continuously finding areas to improve the middle office functions to improve efficiency and effectiveness. In addition, this role will also be responsible for checking the initial margins and collateral of the trades.
About you
Our client is looking to recruit a candidate with at least 1 year experience in a similar role within the Middle Office space at a Commodity Trading House/Oil and Gas firm. The successful candidate must have direct experience within the Power, Gas and Emissions Sector to be considered for this role. Experience within an operations role in the energy industry is also preferred with an understanding of Energy Trading Contracts and pricing mechanisms. Proficiency in PowerBI and Excel with knowledge of programming languages such as Python and VBA is a plus. Additionally, knowledge and usage of Energy Trading and Risk Management system (ETRM) is advantageous.
