Job Description
The Marketing Director, Aerospace, has passion, energy and drive to realise ambitious goals. Reporting directly into the Managing Director, Aerospace, with a dotted line to the CMO, EMEA, the Marketing Director is familiar and comfortable working in a matrix structure, where functional and commercial leadership and responsibility are shared. The role requires a focus on collaborating with internal teams, as well as external stakeholders, partners and specialists to enable and support overall strategic objectives, and drive excellence across the marketing pillars. Being agile to respond to new opportunities is key, as is strategic thinking to drive impactful marketing initiatives. The Marketing Director will oversee a team of marketing professionals and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance our brand presence, generate leads, and ensure the success of our events and products.
Key Performance Indicators
- Develop and deliver a marketing strategy for the aerospace portfolio which achieves agreed business outcomes.
- Oversee the launch and ongoing marketing of the products within the portfolio to drive Marketing KPIs.
- Achieve agreed commercial marketing KPIs and paid ticketing strategy.
- Provide regular reporting and insights to the Aerospace Management team and the regional Senior Management team regularly, on marketing performance and ROI.
- Collaborate with key departments to create a cohesive approach, to ensure that marketing initiatives are aligned to business and commercial goals, driving a unified approach to market engagement.
Main Responsibilities
Leadership
- Member of the Aerospace management team contributing to the overall vision and brand strategy for the Aerospace portfolio.
- Recommend and support strategy development through market research, customer insights, internal data and industry trends.
- Develop a marketing strategy for the group and oversee individual product marketing strategies to deliver against the overall ambition.
- Evolve the existing value propositions to enhance customer value and build out new product offerings to serve the global Aerospace community.
- Follow and analyse market trends to position products and portfolio.
- Oversee the management of modern marketing team to ensure effective strategies are in place to maximise the full channel mix, which includes:
- Providing guidance, feedback and inspiration.
- Support with skills & competency development to ensure team members have a clear development plan.
- Develop succession plans to identify top talent, flight risks and business continuity.
- Oversee the marketing budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources and maximizing return on investment.
- Continual development of management and leadership skills.
Marketing Strategy
Product Marketing
- Own product marketing strategies and their delivery, from value proposition and messaging to persona development, data build, performance analysis, and channel marketing.
- Oversee the launch and ongoing marketing of the products within the portfolio.
- Adopt an agile marketing approach, to respond quickly to market changes and maximize the impact of your initiatives.
Commercial Marketing
- Support the event team in the development and launch of new products and initiatives, through effective go-to-market strategies, sales support, price validation and testing. With growing strength in ecommerce, marketing will become increasingly responsible for direct sales.
- Develop and implement the paid ticketing strategy to maximise ticket revenue.
Brand Development
- Support the team to tell the Aerospace story by crafting compelling messages across marketing channels.
Digital Marketing
- Select and partner with specialists to drive excellence in digital marketing.
- Leverage various marketing analytics tools and platforms, such as Google Analytics, CRM, and social media
Marketing KPIs
- Evaluate performance using relevant KPIs, data and feedback from existing and prospective customers.
- Implement a robust framework for analyzing marketing performance metrics, such as such as lead conversion rates, website traffic, engagement rates, and customer acquisition costs.
- With a focus on continuous improvement, use insights gained from performance metrics to optimize ongoing and future campaigns.
- Communicate the value of marketing investments to internal stakeholders to show ROI and build credibility.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with sales, product development, and customer service teams to ensure cohesive messaging to support overall business goals.
- Align with key departments to creating cohesive messaging that resonates across all touchpoints, to ensure that marketing initiatives are aligned to sales goals, product launches, and customer service protocols, driving a unified approach to market engagement.
- Partner closely with the sales team, to gain insights about customer needs, market challenges, and competitive dynamics to inform your marketing strategies that support the sales process.
- Participate in product roadmap discussions, providing market intelligence to help prioritize features based on customer demand and industry trends.
- Promote a culture of open communication and mutual respect, to encourage teams to share insights, resources, and best practices to deliver marketing and business outcomes.

Qualifications
- An inspiring marketing leader with 10+ years of people management and leadership.
- History of building and nurturing high performing teams.
- A track record of setting and delivering to the highest standards.
- Solid experience of marketing transformation and experience of running agile teams advantageous.
- Experience of developing a brand vision and driving activity to realise it (PR, social media etc).
- An accomplished marketing strategist with experience of developing value propositions, pricing, and driving agility in campaigning and execution.
- Exceptional knowledge of online and offline channels and integrated campaigns.
- Solid experience of marketing a mixed portfolio of products including events, SAAS or subscriptions products. Experience of B2B lead generation.
- Analytical with a data-driven mindset.
- Experience of developing a test & learn culture.
- Strong content development to support strategic goals.
- Experienced in market analysis.
- Good working knowledge of marketing technology and analytics tools.
- A great collaborator, strong in both internal and external communications.
- An individual who thrives in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
