About The Role

Main responsibility of the role is to manage the end to end buying and merchandising for the owned and operated retail outlets across Atlantis Dubai and Aquaventure World. Person in this role ensures strategic execution of team priorities under general guidance of Director of Retail and manages direct reports’ performance and development while leading through influence and collaboration across the company.

Key duties and responsibilities of the role include:

• Overseeing product assortment mix planning and ensuring a diverse range of merchandise that aligns with customer preferences and the retail outlet themes
• Creating and executing merchandise plans based on sales data, market trends and seasonal demands
• Identifying and establishing relationships with key suppliers and vendors to source, produce and manufacture bespoke merchandise
• Negotiating pricing and commercial terms with suppliers to ensure cost- effective purchasing whilst maintaining product quality
• Managing bespoke product development including design briefs and critical path
• Ensuring merchandise planograms and visual merchandising guidelines are created and monitored in line with the planned strategy. 
• Utilising sales reports and performance metrics to adjust buying strategies and make data-driven decisions
• Implementing promotional strategies and merchandising techniques to drive sales and enhance the customer experience
• Coaching and developing retail buying and merchandising team - ensuring a team focus and monitoring progress toward business goals, particularly achievement of revenue and product margins

About You

To succeed in this role you should have solid experience in buying and merchandising and/or category management within the leisure, entertainment or cultural retail sector. Previous experience working with various product categories within a multi-site setup is preferred. Person in this role should build rapport, credibility and trust with internal and external stakeholders while acting as an advisor for the leadership team. You will be naturally comfortable with encouraging positive change, have a sense of obligation to deliver quality results and contribute to team’s and resort’s continuous improvement. Ability to effectively monitor and evaluate sales performance metrics and translate them into action points as well as understanding diverse customer groups needs is necessary in this role.
