Oversee allocated projects to ensure that the established standard MEP design methodologies are applied and ensure consistent and high quality DAMAC work experience to consultants, contractors and clients across allocated projects.
Coordinate and overview the technical side of all MEP activities and operations of allocated projects.
Advise and monitor consultant and onsite MEP engineers for MEP work such as installation of power Sub Station and Distribution works, UPS, Air conditioning, BMS systems, Lifts, Fire hydrant & protection system, Hydro pneumatic systems, water distribution system and other MEP activities as required.
Serve as the MEP technical expert for all matters related to design, quality assurance and documentation of MEP works for allocated projects.
Monitor the MEP works for conformance with the provisions of the project specifications, contract documents on all projects.
Acquire a detailed understanding of standard contract documents (drawings and specifications), phasing plans, MEP systems interrelationships, construction sequencing, and project schedules to advise design managers and project managers as necessary.
Where requested, review consultant and contractors’ claims related to MEP works, facilitate problem solving and escalations as may arise during design and construction and ensure that MEP consultants and subcontractors adhere to HSE regulations on allocated projects.
Oversee the development and review of MEP systems for allocated projects, the approval of the contractor’s as-built drawings and the submittals and logging of MEP changes and as-built information.
Overview the validation of on field drawings and design issues related to MEP and any alternative solutions to contractors/project teams as required
Assist in the scope review, budgeting and justification of MEP change work order and examination of MEP related materials, systems, shop drawings and submittals across allocated projects as required.
Ensure appropriate usage and application of the project management system with respect to entry and analysis of work related data for day to day functioning to facilitate seamless communication of all relevant (technical/non-technical) information across the organization on a real time basis for maximum effectiveness.
Overview the direction and control of the activities of MEP subcontractors to ensure alignment with DAMAC procedures/service agreements and also that the MEP subcontractors provide relevant documentation/records.
Overview the testing and commissioning of MEP equipment and overview the review and approval process for all MEP and technical submittals.
Liaison with consultants, MEP supervisory engineers, Inspectors and with local authorities and ministerial agencies.
Assist project teams in negotiations with contractors regarding the value of claims or changes in schedules and prepare recommendations on claims - approval or rejection on allocated projects where requested.
Team Coordination
Work with project teams for carrying out various MEP designs, documentation and project monitoring and management activities.
Support business development by assisting proposal preparation and presentations with local expertise.
Assist in development of RFPs/Tenders for DAMAC as part of the procurement process for projects.
Coordinate with Design Managers, Project Managers, Construction Managers (onsite) to collate and analyse periodic reports to help understand project performance against MEP standards and drive remedial actions.
Interface with other departments in relation to all DAMAC’s MEP activities on allocated projects as required.
Oversee and advise on the MEP estimates prepared by the QS/Cost Control and collate and analyse periodic cost reports to monitor cost performance
Coordinate with QA and HSE teams to ensure compliance of MEP activities with all Quality and HSE requirements
Collaborate with other construction engineering disciplines to enhance DAMAC’s overall solution.
Manage Relationships
Maintain liaison with the Project Management Team throughout the project to ensure DAMAC satisfaction with design work progress.
Advise the Project Manager on design issues and remedial actions in case of deviations
Benchmark Opportunities
Establish and develop professional relationships with peer professionals in the industry to keep abreast with latest innovations in the MEP disciplines.
Maintain awareness of industry trends, methodologies, tools and best practices in project cost management.
Adopt and adapt good practices from the industry into DAMAC to ensure continuous rejuvenation and upgrades to DAMAC’s MEP function.
