  • At least 3-5 years of relevant shore-based experience.

About GAC Marine LLC


GAC Marine operates from our fully equipped marine base in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Our comprehensive offshore marine support includes anchor handling, project cargo transportation, platform supply, crew changes and supplies, as well as rig moves and tug & barge operations. Operations are supported by our growing fleet of anchor handling tug supply vessels, anchor handling tugs, crew boats, tow tugs, barges, utility vessels and landing craft.


Our expert crew, maintenance and other land-based staff are at hand to facilitate short turn-around times for class surveys, repairs, and maintenance.


GAC Marine is looking for the right people to join our team in several Manager, Marine Operations roles we are now resourcing to be based at our Abu Dhabi marine base. Manager Marine Operations are accountable for all technical maintenance, repairs, dry docking, and reliability of the marine fleet.


Job Description


  • Engage with and visit all vessels on a regular basis (at least once every 3 months) to ensure that the standard of the maintenance and repairs are in accordance with GAC’s maintenance policy. Ensure maintenance of quality control and cost effectiveness of all vessels.
  • Ensure the continuous maintenance of tugs, vessels, and other marine equipment to minimise downtime and ensure vessel availability. Prepare a schedule of equipment needing repair or regular servicing.
  • Supervise maintenance programmes for vessels and sub-contractors working on the company’s vessels and equipment on-site. Maintain a continuous record of maintenance under an agreed programme in a suitable planned maintenance system.
  • Ensure that adequate physical and manpower resources exist to handle all work such as maintenance & repair, dry docking, and new building. On an ongoing basis coordinate the resources to ensure efficient utilisation thereof. Manage the marine base workforce by assigning them and supervising them in completing vessel maintenance jobs.
  • Implement and maintain repair and maintenance procedures for Company-owned equipment. Advise management promptly of any fault with or damages to the vessels or equipment.
  • Manage stock control system and a spare (i.e. lubes, engine consumables, spare parts etc.) ordering procedure.
  • Recruit, train, and assist in the motivation of all technical staff/crew to always ensure professionalism and maintain the required standards.
  • Ensure all operations are conducted in accordance with company procedures and safety requirements.
  • Direct management for major breakdowns and stays until completion of repairs. This will require to visits to vessels/staying onboard during dry docking schedules.
  • Ensure audit actions are closed out satisfactorily and reported to the HSSEQ Manager. Ensure that all vessel certifications and surveys for class, flag and international requirements are in order.
  • Ensure timely preparation of technical reports or information to stakeholders.
  • Manage financial budget and cost control for maintenance, repairs, stores, modification, and dry docking while ensuring compliance with class.
