Purpose & Relevance:


The Consumer & Market Intelligence Manager will play a critical role in shaping the strategic direction of the Emerging Markets BD team, by leading the collection, analysis, and interpretation of market data. This position involves working closely with cross-functional teams to provide actionable insights that drive business decisions and support the company’s competitive advantage in the market. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of market trends, and the ability to communicate complex data in a clear and concise manner.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth research and analysis of global and regional market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive landscapes. Stay informed about industry developments, emerging trends, and new opportunities for growth.
  • Data Collection & Reporting: Gather data from a variety of sources, including primary and secondary research, sales data, and external reports. Prepare comprehensive reports and dashboards to communicate key insights that will be used to support the business development team strategy.
  • Competitive Intelligence: Monitor competitors’ activities, product launches, and marketing strategies. Analyze competitive strengths and weaknesses to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Consumer Insights: Conduct research to understand consumer needs, preferences, and pain points. Provide actionable recommendations to enhance customer experience and drive brand loyalty.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with various departments such as ecommerce, digital and brand to align market insights with business objectives and ensure a unified approach to market expansion
  • Market Size: Create a framework to track our market share within our top countries, across channel. Staying close to industry shifts on a regional level
  • Data Analysis & Interpretation: Collect, process, and analyze large datasets to identify patterns, trends, and correlations relevant to the business. Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights and present findings to cross-functional teams.

Minimum Qualifications:


  •   Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Analytics, Economics, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
  •   Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in market intelligence, competitive analysis, or related fields, preferably within the retail, sportswear, or consumer goods industries.
  •   Skills:
    • Strong proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools (Excel, Tableau, Power BI, etc.).
    • Excellent understanding of market research methodologies and statistical techniques.
    • Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and a strategic mindset.
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present to senior leadership.
    • Deep understanding of consumer behavior, trends, and the competitive landscape in the sportswear industry.
  •   Personal Attributes:
    • Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work independently.
    • Strong collaborator with the ability to work across teams and influence decision-making.
    • Passion for sports, innovation, and market trends.
    • Strong expertise in quantitative and qualitative research methods, data analysis, and interpretation.
    • Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, R, or Python.
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Professional experience in the Emerging Markets region, including Africa, Middle East, South East Asia and Pacific a distinct advantage, with a proven track record of analyzing market trends and consumer behavior in these regions.
    • Fluency in written and spoken English essential. Additional languages are a benefit
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex market insights in a clear and concise manner.
