Our client is looking for a dynamic Legal and Compliance Manager to be based in Dubai, UAE. General Overview
Oversee and ensure the adherence to legal standards and corporate policies
Responsible for implementing regulations in all aspects and levels of business as well as provide guidance on compliance matters
Professional of high ethical standards, demonstrating excellent legal and business expertise
Responsible to draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts and agreements.
Advise on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and other local corporate transactions.
Collaborate with internal and corporate departments to provide proactive legal support.
Key Responsibilities
Legal Advisory: Provide legal guidance and support on various legal issues, including corporate governance affairs, labor law, and contractual agreements.
Corporate secretary supervision: overview the main corporate documents (i.e. shareholders meetings, bylaws) related to all Middle East area subsidiaries and make sure that the corporate tool platform, implemented by the company, is duly updated
Compliance Management: Develop and implement an effective legal compliance program, ensuring that the company adheres to all relevant laws and regulations.
Risk Assessment: Identify and assess areas of significant business risk and implement strategies to mitigate them.
Policy Development: Draft, modify, and implement company policies to ensure legal and ethical standards are met.
Training and Education: Conduct training sessions for employees on legal and compliance matters to promote a culture of integrity and compliance.
Monitoring and Auditing: Regularly review and audit company procedures and policies to identify potential compliance issues and implement corrective actions
Liaison: Serve as a point of contact for external regulators and auditors and develop relationships with relevant legal bodies in the region
Reporting: Prepare and present clear and comprehensive reports to the Regional Director and the legal department in the HQ on the compliance status and related risks.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in UK Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a compliance or legal advisory role within a corporate environment.
In-depth knowledge of corporate law and risk management practices. Familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
