AtkinsRealis, a leading global design, engineering, and project management consultancy, is looking for a skilled and experienced Land Surveyor to join our team in the UAE. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of surveying duties on construction sites to ensure that projects are completed in compliance with legal requirements, project specifications, and quality standards.
The Land Surveyor will work directly with site operations teams to provide precise measurements, data, and support throughout the construction process. This role requires a deep understanding of surveying techniques, local regulations, and construction practices, ensuring accuracy and safety at all stages of the project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Surveying and Data Collection:
Conduct land surveys, including boundary surveys, topographical surveys, and construction staking. Provide precise measurements, data, and analysis to ensure compliance with project specifications. - Setting Out:
Perform setting out and marking of control points and boundaries for construction works as per design documents. - Monitoring and Adjustments:
Monitor and adjust survey equipment, as needed, for accuracy, ensuring that all instruments are calibrated and maintained to meet project standards. - Site Operations Support:
Collaborate with site engineers, project managers, and other team members to ensure efficient site operations and accurate reporting of survey results. - Reporting:
Prepare and maintain clear, concise survey reports, including measurement calculations and layout plans, for review and approval by senior management and project teams. - Compliance and Quality Assurance:
Ensure that all surveying work adheres to the relevant industry standards, local regulations, and AtkinsRealis quality assurance procedures. - Problem-Solving:
Identify and resolve any issues or discrepancies related to surveys, land measurements, or site conditions, proposing practical solutions in consultation with senior staff. - Health and Safety:
Follow and enforce all safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment on site, in line with AtkinsRealis and local regulatory requirements. - Collaboration and Communication:
Communicate effectively with all site personnel, clients, and stakeholders, ensuring a smooth flow of information between team members.
Requirements:
Educational Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Land Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Professional Experience:
- Minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience in land surveying, particularly within construction projects in the UAE or GCC region.
- Experience with modern surveying tools, including Total Stations, GPS, and 3D scanning equipment.
- Familiarity with the UAE’s local land survey standards and regulations is highly advantageous.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong technical proficiency in surveying equipment and software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, LSS).
- Good knowledge of surveying techniques, data analysis, and topographical surveys.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with colleagues, clients, and other stakeholders.
Language Requirements:
- Fluency in English (both written and verbal). Knowledge of Arabic is a plus
