Role Overview: We
seek an L1 NOC Network Security Engineer to join our IT operations team. The
ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of network and security, with a
desire to enhance their technical skills in a fast-paced environment. The role
involves monitoring, responding to alerts, troubleshooting, and ensuring
network stability.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitoring and
Incident Detection:
Monitor network and security via Solarwinds.
Respond quickly to alerts and incidents,
escalating when necessary.
Initial
Troubleshooting:
Troubleshoot issues related to switches,
routers, firewalls, Load balancers, MPLS, and WAN links.
Use remote tools for troubleshooting.
Document incidents and resolutions.
Incident Management:
Categorize and prioritize incidents based on severity.
Communicate with stakeholders and follow up on
escalated issues.
Network and System
Maintenance:
Assist in routine maintenance tasks and health
checks on devices.
Apply patches, updates, and configuration
changes.
Documentation and
Reporting:
Maintain network documentation and SOPs.
Generate reports on performance and incidents.
Collaboration and
Communication:
Work with L2 and L3 engineers to resolve complex
issues.
Participate in team meetings and improvement
initiatives.
Shift Work and
On-Call Support:
Work in a 24/7 shift environment and participate
in on-call rotations.
Required
Qualifications:
3+ years in network and security operations.
Experience with network/security devices and
monitoring tools (SolarWinds).
Strong troubleshooting skills.
Excellent communication skills.
Certifications: CISCO CCNA/Security or
equivalent; SolarWinds preferred.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Experience in a 24/7 NOC environment.
Familiarity with ITIL processes.
Knowledge of cloud environments (AWS, Azure) and
monitoring tools.
Understanding of digital and cybersecurity
service management.
Exposure to configuration management tools.
