Head of Curriculum
August 2025
Location: Dubai, UAE
The purpose of the role is to manage the design and development of training programs, curriculum, methods, and materials for all subjects and phases in the School. Oversee skill assessments and collects input to identify training or development needs, goals, gaps, and requirements.
Salary and Benefits:
1. AED18000-22000 per month depending on experience and qualifications (Tax free)
2. Accommodation allowance provided (part of salary)

Expected Qualifications:
● Master’s Degree
● Bachelor’s Degree
Desirable:
● Recognized Leadership in Education qualification

Expected Experience:
Essential
● 5 Years of teaching experience and at least two years’ in leadership position

Desirable
● Two years of experience in similar position
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Leadership & Management
● Leading the development and implementation of curriculum policies and procedures in alignment with the American national curriculum framework and KHDA standards.
● To consult with Subject Instructional Leads to define learning objectives, course content and curriculum for all grades and subjects.
● Provide leadership and modeling for teachers, including intervention and differentiation;
● Report and resolve any issues or discrepancies related to curriculum planning, development and implementation in coordination with School Senior Leadership Team.
● Contribute to the overall leadership and management of the teachers in partnership with the SLT.
● Promote desired attributes and concepts through mentoring and coaching.
● Promote high academic and personal expectations for all students and staff members.
● Provide leadership and support to faculty members in the implementation of the curriculum
Curriculum Development and Planning
● Develop and implement a comprehensive and cohesive curriculum that aligns with the school's mission, vision, and values.
● Work closely with the academic team to ensure that the curriculum is aligned with the UAE Ministry of Education standards
● To develop standards and methodology to prepare high quality outlines, syllabus, lesson plans and study materials for all grades and subjects.
● Coordinate curriculum standards and curriculum changes in all phases of the school.
● Work closely with the head of assessment in developing assessments that effectively measure defined learning objectives, develop program learning outcomes and both internal and external
assessment instruments.
● Developing a clear and effective pedagogy for the instruction to be engaging, relevant, and rigorous;
● Develop academic support programs as needed to meet students’ needs.
● Designing and reviewing curriculum content, course materials, and assessments to ensure that they are effective, engaging, and meet the needs of all students.
● Collaborating with Middle level leaders and teachers to ensure that the curriculum is delivered effectively and consistently across all classrooms.
● Providing guidance and support to teachers and other educators in the implementation of the curriculum, including providing professional development opportunities and resources to enhance teaching and learning.
● Ensuring that the curriculum is responsive to the diverse needs of students and that it promotes cultural awareness and inclusion.
● Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the curriculum and making revisions and improvements as needed.
● Staying up-to-date with the latest research, trends, and best practices in curriculum development and education.
● Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the curriculum on an ongoing basis and make necessary adjustments as required

Training & Development
● Support teachers through PD sessions, coaching and tasks to improve practice.
● Create and distribute exemplary models of educational content (notes, summaries, assignments etc.)
● Explain new ideas and unfamiliar concepts in a clear and concise way so that teachers and students can understand and implement them in class.
● Support Subject Instructional Leads to provide a model classroom that exemplifies the practices and professionalism expectations of SMS
● Facilitate appropriate moderation of student work to ensure grade level consistency.
● Provide feedback about teachers and students to key stakeholders that offers statements of success and highlights next steps in collaboration with the Vice Principal.
● Oversee the training and development of the academic staff.
● Lead weekly professional development and team meetings based on teachers’ needs.
Miscellaneous
● Develop and maintain strong relationships with parents and other stakeholders to ensure that they are informed and involved in the academic program
● Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in curriculum design, assessment, and instruction
● Promote and represent the school both internally and externally.
● Support and mentor model classroom environments and an ethos of peer and self-evaluation to develop teaching methods and ensure consistency of quality across the school phase.
● All the duties as assigned by the Director of Teaching and Learning.
