About The Role
The IT Assistant is responsible for effectively operating the resort’s information technology and telecommunications operations. This is a "hands-on" position, serving an individual contributor of internal and external resources, to meet the position's responsibilities. Contributes advanced knowledge and skill in technology and general hospitality business knowledge to support the property and technology Information Resources objectives. The position is responsible to the property for all technology planning, PCI compliance, GDPR, and maintenance. Coordinate property systems technicians and interfaces with vendors, guests, owners, Executive Committee, and property colleagues.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
• Fully understand the hotel network infrastructure, computer systems, and software.
• Detects and resolves IT-related system / technical problems encountered.
• Provides technical support in the hotel Computer Systems, Point of Sales Systems, Software, Printers, Servers, Office Automation, System Applications, E-Mail, Internet and Intranet
• Provide IT support to hotel guests as requested by the Front Office / Guest Service Center.
• Escalates issues/problems that cannot be resolved to senior IT members.
• Assists in the implementation and maintenance of backup procedure and full file recoverability.
• Ensures that appropriate hardware and software are correctly used as per company guidelines.
• Reports any irregularities found to the direct superior in the IT Department.
• Carries out computer systems troubleshooting with related parties according to schedules set by the Manager.
• Assists in the maintenance and security of the computer room, and protection in-house and external data security.
• Assists in maintaining complete and up-to-date documentation on existing network configurations and applications.

Experience & Educational Requirements
• Graduate/ Postgraduate in IT.
• CCNA, MCITP certification preferred
• Minimum of 2 years IT experience in a hotel environment
• Familiar with hotel applications: i.e. Opera PMS, Micros symphony POS, etc.
• Excellent technical expertise in multiple hardware platforms and operating systems, storage technologies, Infrastructure Management tools and services, LOB Applications, ERP Solutions, and Interfaces.
• Strong balance of operational, business, and technical aptitude and comprehension.
• Proven ability to lead a technical team and willingness to be hands-on.
• Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver results, on time and on budget.
• Demonstrated ability to manage vendors/suppliers.
• Highly organized and productive, requiring little supervision.
