Job Summary:
We seek a detail-oriented and experienced Internal Auditor. This role requires a professional with strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of audit processes, and experience in regulatory compliance within the district cooling or utilities sector. The Internal Auditor will assess risk management, control, and governance processes to ensure efficiency and compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Audit Planning and Execution:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive internal audit plan based on a thorough risk assessment.
- Conduct audits across financial, operational, and compliance functions, focusing on efficiency, accuracy, and adherence to policies.
- Analyze district cooling operations and processes to identify potential risks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
Risk Assessment and Control Evaluation:
- Identify and assess key risks within the organization and evaluate existing control measures.
- Recommend improvements to risk management processes and ensure alignment with industry standards.
- Regularly review control procedures specific to district cooling operations, including cooling systems, plant management, and maintenance protocols.
Compliance and Regulatory Standards:
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations, including those related to energy efficiency, environmental standards, and health and safety.
- Monitor and evaluate adherence to governmental policies and regulatory standards applicable to district cooling services.
Reporting and Communication:
- Prepare and present audit findings, including issues, risks, and recommendations, to senior management and the audit committee.
- Develop clear and actionable audit reports, with a focus on driving continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with department heads to ensure that audit recommendations are implemented effectively and in a timely manner.
Continuous Improvement and Best Practices:
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging risks, and best practices in internal audit and district cooling.
- Provide insights and training to the team on compliance, risk management, and internal controls.
- Actively contribute to the development and refinement of policies, standards, and audit methodologies.
Qualifications and Experience:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. A professional certification (e.g., CIA, CPA, CISA) is highly desirable.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of internal audit experience,
Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in audit software and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly and concisely.
