INSTRUMENTATION DESIGNER

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

We are seeking a skilled Instrumentation Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering consultancy, particularly in the Oil & Gas sector, and possess expertise in designing instrumentation systems for various projects.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop detailed instrumentation designs and specifications based on project requirements and industry standards.
• Prepare Instrumentation Index, Datasheets, I/O Lists, Hook-up drawings, and other technical documents.
• Collaborate with engineers, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure accuracy and completeness of designs.
• Conduct technical reviews and evaluations to optimize design efficiency and performance.
• Provide support during procurement, construction, and commissioning phases, ensuring adherence to design specifications.
• Perform design calculations and simulations using appropriate software tools.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and standards.
• Participate in design reviews, HAZOP, and other safety studies as required.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and knowledge sharing within the team.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience 5+ Years as an Instrumentation Designer in an Engineering Consultancy, preferably within the Oil & Gas industry.
• Proficiency in using design software such as AutoCAD, SPI, SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI), or similar tools.
• In-depth knowledge of international codes and standards (e.g., ISA, API, IEC) related to instrumentation design.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and independently when required.
• Knowledge of project management principles and practices is desirable.
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification or equivalent (Preferred).
• Experience with DCS/PLC systems and integration(Preferred).
• Familiarity with 3D modeling software (e.g., PDMS, PDS) for interdisciplinary coordination(Preferred).
