INFRASTRUCTURE DRAFTSMEN

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The purpose of the job of an Infrastructure Draftsman is to support the design and execution of infrastructure projects by preparing detailed technical drawings and plans that accurately represent the projects design intent. These drawings are essential for guiding construction, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and coordinating across multiple disciplines involved in infrastructure development. The draftsman translates engineering designs into precise, clear, and easily understandable drawings, enabling seamless communication between engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare detailed infrastructure drawings such as roads, utilities (water, sewage, electrical), and drainage systems using AutoCAD or similar software.
• Develop site layouts, grading plans, and alignment drawings in coordination with engineers and project managers.
• Assist in the preparation of as-built drawings, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project specifications.
• Ensure all drawings are produced in compliance with local GCC standards, project requirements, and international codes.
• Work closely with engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to resolve design issues and incorporate feedback into drawings.
• Coordinate with different disciplines to ensure design compatibility across various infrastructure elements.
• Maintain and organize project files, drawings, and documentation for easy retrieval and updates.
• Collaborate with surveying teams to integrate topographical data into the design process.
• Support the preparation of bills of quantities (BOQs) and other technical documentation for tenders.
• Conduct regular reviews and revisions of drawings to address changes and updates during the project lifecycle.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

• Diploma or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering Technology, Drafting, or a related field.
• 5-7 years of experience as a draftsman in infrastructure projects within the GCC.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant drafting software; knowledge of Civil 3D is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with GCC standards and regulations for infrastructure design.
• Knowledge of civil infrastructure systems, including roads, bridges, drainage, and utilities.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and technical proficiency.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively to meet deadlines.
