In this role as a HSE Engineer, you shall be responsible to ensure that HSE activities are in continuous compliance with local laws, regulations, HSE standards, Hempel Regional and Group standards.
Here’s some of the key roles you can look forward to:
To assist and coordinate with Factory Manager, HSE Manager, EMEA on HSE activities of Hempel operations in Sharjah
Ensure Operational sustainability activities are performed as per Group strategy plan
Plan, carry out and follow-up on HSE inspections, other QHSE improvement projects, best practices as directed by HSE Manager, EMEA.
Monitoring HSE legislation requirements for its compliance in the country operations.
Up-date the Factory Manager on new and upcoming National regulations that can influence on Hempel HSE Performance and management systems.
Monitor, collect and analyze data on HSE activities and ensure all regulatory and Hempel internal reports for HSE related activities are up-dated and submit to the Factory Manager
Conduct safety audits and on-site inspections to identify workplace hazards and risks.
Investigate HSE incidents and report to the Factory Manager and HSE Manager, EMEA.
Organize and conduct HSE and sustainability trainings for employees.
Coordinate with HSE Manager, EMEA for developing and implementing HSE policies and procedures with Hempel Sharjah operations.
Conduct internal HSE management systems audits and ensure compliance.
Maintain professional relationship with employees and other stakeholders impacting HSE performance, policies and procedures.
Organize safety organization meetings, HSE management review meetings as per the management systems requirements.
Coordinate, cooperate and assist on HSE activities, as and when necessary, as directed by Factory Manager and HSE Manager, EMEA.
Implement and ensure compliance to Safety excellence, safety continuous improvement and 6’s projects in Sharjah facility.
You will directly report to the Factory Manager & functionally report to the Regional QHSE Manager.
This role will be based in Sharjah (UAE).
You should also have the following qualifications:
Masters Engineering Degree in Industrial safety or Bachelor Engineering degree with Globally recognized Level 6 certification in occupational health & Safety
ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 lead auditor trained, Knowledgeable and certified in QMS, EMS and OHSAS Management systems implementation and auditing.
Minimum 2 to 3 years’ experience of managing HSE in continuous manufacturing plant. Chemical process plant experience is preferred.
Good knowledge and experience in Handling Sustainability projects.
Good MS Office skills in Excel, Word and PowerPoint and ERP systems.
Proficiency in English language
